no titles

soo.. i'm getting back into scrapbooking (hooray!) and just wondering.. who here doesn't title their layouts? Lately i'm finding its not really something i'm interested in doing personally so just wondering - what should i put as the name of the document? should i just date it? or ?

I have a few random untitled ones, but I usually just stick whatever in the title when I'm uploading... I don't even do titlework on most of my los, so a lot of the time, they don't already have a title, other than what I named the file, so I can keep them straight!

:D I actually have a few I just dubbed 'sweet' then when I went to save them, I had to save as sweet3, because I already had a couple saved with that title.

Hahaha, most of my layouts with titles are an afterthought! It's just not really a priority for me, either because I'm more interested in the photo or I don't really care. When I'm uploading to a gallery I usually pick something from the journaling as the title. There have been a number of exceptions--because for me the title was a huge part of the design and the story.

I sometimes don't title my LOs, especially if it's one in a PL format or in a grid format...I find a title to be awkward and unnecessary on those sorts of pages.

I never used to put a title on my page. For one, I could never think up anything "witty" to call my page (unless it was obvious) and second, copying and pasting alphas was not my favorite thing to do. I used to add a date and a blurb, maybe some journaling and that's it.

However...I'm working on titling my pages AND journaling more. lol It's a work in progress. :)

Huh, I find my layouts look really incomplete with a title. Must be different styles of scrapping. I would just save it then for the date or the kit used.

I don't title a lot of mine. I've found that if the photo or journaling has some sort of theme, or it's an event, I'll just name it after that.

Titles are a must for me! It's a quick way for anyone looking at the layout to tell what it's about. :)

I always title my layouts. Can't imagine not doing it now. I name my layouts by year-month-day-title. Then they're all chronological in the folder. e.g. 12-04-06-Easter fun. If you don't use a title, just name it by the date of the photo.

I frequently will finish a page and realize I didn't even think to title it. I think over time, titles become more and more difficult. It starts to feel like I'm using the same titles because they're "easy" and general. I usually save all of my pages with the date I scrapped them.

Since I consider myself to be a picture decorator a lot of my pages have no title or just a word strip that fits...I try not to over analyze my scrapping...my albums are beautiful and filled with so many memories...I refuse to be my own worst critic.
Scrap however it makes you happy K!

I name my files by designer initials_kit initials_picture content_date.

I don't title every layout. If I'm feeling it, I put one on. If not, I don't. I like to keep it simple.

As far as naming the files, I usually save it with a random name that has to do with the subject of the layout. Usually something like "KidName-Event-Year," because I save well before I'm done with the layout. Even if it has a title, the file name is rarely the same as the layout title.

I most often use a piece of wordart as my title, K, and will name my page the same. Page naming is not really an issue for me, though, since I delete my PSDs as soon as I post the page online and my JPGs are titled in chronological order when I pull them out of their month folders so 001-Title.jpg, 002-Title, jpg so I can have 37 'Sweet's if I want. :)

I don't title all of my pages either. I sometimes feel like for ct stuff I should use the alpha and put a title on it, but I love kits that have word art in them so I can just slap one of those on there! haha!

After so many years of scrapping with titles my pages always look a little naked to me without one. But I hate coming up with a title; it's almost always the last thing I do. You girls have inspired me to let a word strip or word art serve as my title more often.

This is exactly me!

Sometimes I put titles on my layouts, sometimes I don't. As for naming the file: I ALWAYS do the date of the photo/event yy/mm/dd along with a couple words that generally describe the layout. Sometimes it's just a person's name. But, I always have the date at the beginning so that all my layouts are sorted in order . . . not the order I scrapped them, but the order the events happened. That makes it a lot easier when it comes time to print and put them in albums.

This exactly.

You could ofcourse call them nameless1, nameless 2, etc. ;) :D

I don't always do a title either and sometimes my title is just a word strip or piece of word art - just depends on the layout. The one thing I always do though is put a date on the layout itself, as I'm sure 20 years from now I'll never remember when certain things happened! :D

I agree with Shannon. I recently had all my pages put into 5 adarama books and they look awesome. Some have titles, some don't.

I save by date.

I just remembered--this is also why i LOVE your wordart, K. Totally saves my bacon when I'm needing a title for a layout :D

I sometimes title and sometimes don't. It all depends what kind of LO and such. I always date the LO and save within year folders, adding the month in the file name.

I actually had to go look at my gallery to see and I do use titles most of the time. I name my layout though based on the subject or theme of the page. Usually title it the same way, but some times I diverge from the original file name when titling the page. :)
