NO NAME!!!

7 weeks until I deliver this baby and we have NO NAME!!

I guess she'll just be Baby Girl Hawkins!

I am so frustrated with this. I have NOTHING that I like and it's so hard to decide with DH with him not here. I'm so tired of my entire family giving suggestions and turning their noses up at anything we like. So once we do pick something we're not telling anyone until she's born. But I can't decide. I have gone through every name in the book and nothing.

Just venting.

Aww sorry sweety :( I am sure you will know as soon as you see her sweet little face. We have our girl named picked cause we have had it since Wes was a baby but if its a boy I have nada.

I know the feeling. I was flipping through a baby name book while on the delivery table when I was having DD.

Maybe when you look at her you will just know her name.

Sorry, Nikki...name picking is so hard. We didn't tell anyone with either kid until after he/she was born. Our families also were huge PITAs b/c they didn't like anything we did.

It will come to you...good luck!

Melissa is always a good name. J/K!! I'm sure something will come to you. DH and I had this same problem with our last baby. Finally a week before he was born we decided on Avery. I don't know why he was so hard, maybe it's because he is our last or maybe cuz he was our third boy. I wouldn't fret about not having a name before she is born cuz once you see her darling face, something will just click.

Will your DH be back before she is born?

I know what you mean with family giving their opinions! We decided to just keep it a secret too. I was really worried that my SIL would steal the name if it leaked out, so the few I told (Bree & another sister & my parents) were sworn to absolute secrecy!

We started picking out names as soon as we found out. I had Chloe picked out for years, so we knew if one was a girl, we'd definitely have a Chloe. For boys we liked Christian and Caleb. Once we found out it was 2 girls, I liked Madalyn or Caidence for the second girl name. I was pushing hard for Madalyn, but apparently Chloe and Madalyn aren't 'appropriate' twin names. :D MIL had a small shower for me, and that was one of her games: Come up with 'appropriate' names for my twins. :D Got suggestions like Shawnee and Tawney :p Kristin and Kaitlyn. Dh HATED Madalyn, so I told him if he hadn't decided on anything by the time she was born, it would be Caidence. I actually called her that a few times, and told everyone that's what her name was, but the next morning after they were born, dh decided she was a Caitlyn. I still wonder if he picked that name because of pressure from his mom! :D
But really, don't stress out if the family doesn't like the name you pick!! lol, I wouldn't tell them either.

I'm sorry Nikki! I had a girl name picked out right away (Jessica Rose) and the first boy name too but DH and I had a very hard time picking #2's name (well I should say coming to agreement). I finally caved about 3 hours before he was born. :)

I had the name Katie Scarlett picked out since I was a teenager, so that was a no brainer. With my son, we thought we were going to name him Jack, so we called him that through my entire pregnancy. Then he was born and we realized he wasn't Jack after all, so it took us two days to figure out that he was really Paul. For weeks afterwards I kept calling him Jack on accident. So with this new baby, we decided we weren't going to commit to a name until she was born so we didn't confuse ourselves again. We waited two days and then finally decided on Averi.

Yeah, what happened to Riley? So, DH & I aren't even expecting and we have a boy name picked out and possibly a girl name! lol I always wanted Cameron Michael for a boy, so that might still happen some day. But our first boy will be Jacob Alan. Jacob after DH's 20 year old cousin who was killed by a drunk driver last November & Alan after DH. Daughter, I always wanted Ashleigh, but the more I hear it & look at it, I'm sick of it! lol So, we'll probably go w/ Abigail Leigh. I really want Zoe Abigail! DH says he likes the name Zoe, just not for our kid! HAHA! Anyway. That was all kind of pointless, huh?! You'll figure something out!

DS2 didn't have a name until he was 3 days old. We tried out various names that we liked for a couple of hours each. We called him Adam, Seth, Dirk, Duncan, Henry, Byrd, Allen, Owen.... The nurses would come in my room and ask us "So what is his name now?". We finally settled on a name about 2 hours before the paperwork lady showed up & we decided on a middle name the moment she said "and the middle name?"

DS1's first name was chosen when he was 17 weeks old. I agreed to the middle name while waiting for my c-section.

My DS is Avery too! :) I had that name picked out since forever..I got it from the little boy's name in the book Charlotte's Web. I always loved it because it was an older name and not seen much but then when I finally had DS it was becoming popular and NOW you see girl Averys everywhere which DH really doesn't like lol

We had at one point decided on Tessa Rylie and honestly that may end up being what we go with b/c we can agree on nothing else but DH just isn't crazy about it and he's making me not crazy about it soo....it's just frustrating..picking a name is such a big deal kwim?

It is a big deal, so it's nothing you need to rush. There's no problem with calling her "Baby Girl" or "Little One" for a few days!

Well, I don't know if you're looking for suggestions :D , but we had a hard time with both our kids. In the end, we went with the names that had been in my head for years: Camden Eli and Rory Katherine. I also really like Micah (but I have a brother-in-law so that doesn't work :) ), Reaghan Claire, Sumner. I have an online friend who just named their daughter Briar Rose, and I think it's adorable!

LOOOOVE the name Reaghan (spelled just like that too!)

I did a blog post searching for girl names when I was preggy with Teaghan..lemme dig it up for you Nikki there's some AWESOME baby girl names in the suggestions!

I'm with ya... really.
I'm due in 22 days - and we don't have a definite name picked out either.
(and for the first time in many years, my husband IS home to help me with this decision - and we're still not making much headway)

Female. Seriously? Wow. I always wonder if the parents think of the torture a kid will go through when they do stuff like that.

Maybe you guys can put your favorite names in a hat and each draw one for first and one for middle?

I am loving the name Sophia Grace and I have no idea why, did someone just have a baby and use that name?

When I was growing up I wanted a girl named Stephanie so I could call her Stevie. LOL!

One of my best friends is due in about 5 weeks & she's having a little girl. Her name will be Kaylee Joy! I LOVE Kaylee! Kaylee means pure. So, her name means Pure Joy! How sweet!!!

Thats how we were with my son... no name until last minute. And we dont tell people our names for the very same reason as you wont.

You guys will come up with something. Maybe you just need to meet her first to know for sure?

I'm sorry, names are a big deal, it's hard!!!

This is why I'm afraid to have a boy! No names are standing out to me at all! good luck! :)

Your Baby Girl can have playdates with my Baby Girl! We've finally started making lists of names and we're finding girl names easier than boy names (thank goodness!), but we still don't know. And once we do know, we never tell anyone until the baby is here and it's too late for anyone to object.

It's true that names are a big deal, but I'm sure the ones you're considering are nothing like Female, LOL. Even if whatever name you decide on doesn't seem 100% perfect when you pick it, within a few weeks of DD's birth that name will just be her, and you'll forget that you weren't sure or that your 3rd cousin who you never liked has the same name.

Oh also Brianna and Nicole are pretty.

Nicole is my name :) Nikki is my nickname :)

If it were a boy we'd have a name...we had decided on John Ezra after both of my grandfathers. DH suggested it and I loved it (DH never knew his grandfathers and is VERY close to my grandfather Ezra) ...we would have called him John Ezra...but that's out the window now lol

:D I wasnt thinking LOL. I like Nicole because that would have been my sons name had he been a girl. He was named Nickolas instead.

Thats so funny thats gonna be our baby's name if its a girl. I agree its beautiful.

I LOVE Grace...always wanted to use that name but my SIL got to it first for my niece Olivia Grace and my best friend's little girl is Emma Grace...so Grace is pretty much out...they're just too close for me to use the same name.

The name that I really LOVE that I had wanted to name DS if he were a girl...is Loralei but DH hates it. He won't even consider it. I sure wish I knew who died and gave him veto power lol :)

Nikki you could totally use Grace! I know what you mean though we loved the name Ryan and my cousin did the same thing when we were preggers the same time. I think it would be sweet though. I had a hard time between Sophia Grace and Sophia Faith but ultimately decided on Grace cause it had family ties and all my other kids have family derived names. I feel kinda guitly cause this babys first name will be the only one outta the 4 without a family name. Funny we have 20938493 people in my family and not one freakin Sophia. The one thing I think is realy common in my family i sa lot of the women name their daughters after themselves lol!

I LOVE Loralei, but DH hated it too. Well, that and our last name is Lewis and I'm not a big fan of Loralei Lewis. :D
