No internet!

This past weekend we had an ice storm come through, followed by strong rain and snow leading up to today! Sunday afternoon our internet went out. I kept reminding my daughter's it was better than being without power that whole time (which some of their friends and others have been dealing with).

Well, just because the internet is out, doesn't mean you can't scrap! I scrapped 7 layouts for SSD, plus a handful of others to finish up an album! It's surprising what you can get done when you aren't checking e-mail, or facebook, or the internet in general!

The internet came back on this afternoon (in time for a daughter to do some homework), and to catch up on some tv. But it was kinda nice not being distraced by everything online!

I understand what you mean. I also got a whole lot done last week when our whole neighborhood was out of power. Thank goodness it was during the day and I had battery in my laptop! :)

I'm glad you guys have your internet back. I missed you! But I'm so glad you were able to so much done and you could get the album printed!!

I agree....I get so much more done when I'm not connected to the internet

Back when I was at university if I had seriously procrastinated on an assignment but had all the resources I needed (either books or journal articles printed out) I would take my laptop and I to the local library and work there cause I knew I wouldn't get tempted by going on the internet. I also would go to the library to study for tests for the same reason plus at the time my mum was home 24/7 as she was unemployed so I knew I would a) be interupted by her and b) procrastinate so it was easiest to eliminate the distractions to start with

It's sad how much my high schooler needs the internet to do her homework. A lot of classes don't even give them books--they tell them to access it online (and for some reason the access doesn't work on her phone in case of emergency). I hate when out internet is not available because she gets so stressed.

i secretly love the days we lose internet and/or power for that reason, lol

My kids do everything online for their school. My middle school child doesn't have any books. Their school is going paperless and some of her classes haven't used paper all year long!

I miss it....miss it all. Maybe it's because I talk to my best friend while scrapping, or I remember I have a bill to pay and get sidetracked doing the bills. I always think of things that need done when we don't have power/internet :D

We play Pokémon cards and other card games when we don’t have internet or power. It’s always fun!
