Hey There!
I'm new here =) I decided to join this forum because some of my favorite designers sell here at Sweet Shoppe! My name is Marcy - but online I go by MarcyKay =) Actually, now that I think of it, in the last couple of years I seem to have migrated in "real life" from Marcy to MarcyKay, although I don't hear my name out loud too often. My husband calls me "Babe" and other than that all I hear all day is "Mommy", I am sure some of you can relate ;) The rare occassions my husband does throw "Marcy" out there it throws me for a loop lol.

I used to be a paper scrapper, and I still paper scrap to try and use up my ridiculous stash, but I don't have the space for it, nor the time really - since cleanup seems to take longer than the project itself lol. So I have fallen in love with digiscrap in the last year or so. I am not on any creative teams - seems almost everyone has that in their signatures lol. I'd love to be just haven't been in communities or applied anywhere =)

I've got 3 little girls. Ages 6, 3, and 9 months - and I am pregnant with another little lady, due in September! Whew! I am an Army wife to my highschool sweetheart turned soldier, and we currently reside in Fort Bragg, NC - though we are from San Antonio, Tx.

I've got a blog here, but haven't really taken the time to get it up and running and really post. I intend to someday soon =)

I do have a question - I would like to upload some of my layouts to the gallery, but was wondering what the best way is to do it. Is it better to upload to "member galleries" or - for example alot of my layouts are using Jady Day Studio kits (love!) - should I upload it there to her inspiration gallery? Will it still be linked on my profile no matter where I upload it, if people are looking for layouts I have made?

Hi! Welcome! You will absolutely LOVE this place! :) As far as uploading goes, when you upload, you will get to the spot where you title it, add the description, etc. There will be two drop-down menus. It's there where you can add it to the specific designer galleries, too. I hope that helps some!
 
Either way it works and you can put it in both galleries if you like. Welcome! I grew up in SA but hope to make it to NC one day. My husband is dying to move out that way. How's the heat and humidity there in comparison?
 
Welcome! I've changed out your membership status, so you should now be able to play in the gallery with us, create a signature, etc. So join in and have fun! :)

Yes, no matter where you upload, it will still be linked into your member gallery. So, there's no reason to add it there. If you use a specific designer's products, we love seeing your stuff in our designer galleries. I know I don't usually get around to looking through the main gallery very often, so I'll have a better chance of seeing it if it's in my own designer gallery. :)

We just moved back to NC this month - and surprisingly the weather has been fab! In the 70s/80s, the way I like it. We've been here a couple summers though and it does get super duper hot. But this summer is off to a much better start. It was already close to 100 in SA when we left, I was so miserable (even not pregnant that's too hot for me!) The humidity is different but it doesn't bother me, it bothers some people though.

I am due September 11th - my 9 month old's birthday is September 12th (Actually that is my oldest's birthday too! she decided to come on the ONE day I didn't want her to come lol) I usually pop around 38 weeks though so I dunno if there will be quite a year between them!

Thanks for switching my membership status! What size should I make the images for the gallery? Seems everyone has large ones - but it keeps telling me the file limit is exceeded. is 500x500 too big? Or am I maybe not saving it correctly?
 
Wow! That's crazy about their birthdays being so close like that! My 2 daughters are 14 years apart... my youngest is just 4 months old, and she was born on Feb 15... my oldest turned 14 on Feb 16. LOL When I found out I was going to have to have a c-section, I specifically asked them to avoid the 16th cause I wanted them to have different birthdays. LOL

Most people either do 600x600 or 700x700 for the gallery. I can't remember what our file size limit is... maybe someone else can check that for ya (I'm pretty sure I don't have a limit on staff, so I'm afraid I won't give you accurate information or I would check myself). I wanna say like 250kb or something?
 
My goodness, 14 years apart!
She was due Sept 26th but came exactly 2 weeks early. I woulda rather her come late and share my birthday (Sept 30th) but she obviously had other plans ;)

I figured out the gallery thing, I wasn't saving it right, oops! But I got it now, yay! Thanks for the help!

Welcome to SSD! Glad you were able to figure out how to upload to the gallery... also there's an awesome tutorial on the tutorial blog for saving for web, HERE :) :::the upload limit used to be 150K so it was written for that... just update it to 249K instead of 149K on step 8 ;):::
 
Welcome Marcy! I have 3 boys so I feel your pain! Having the same of any one gender is nutso! At least in our house LOL. My Brother In Law was stationed up at Ft. Bragg till just this year when he left the army! :)
