New Years Plans

What's everyone doing to ring in 2008?

Tony works a day shift tomorrow, and a night shift on New Year's Day, so he'll actually be home. We're going to do a few fireworks for the kids early, since they won't stay up (Benjamin might). We're going to have takeout Chinese or something, since we can't go anywhere without a sitter, and there is nowhere to go, even if we did LOL!

But I don't mind a night home alone with hubby LOL!

Our original plan was to go to the local theme park, but now a friend has invited us to a party. It all depends on if we can get a babysitter. :)

That's way more than we'll be doing. We are definitely not Ring-In-The-New-Year kind of people. The last time I was up for the new year was when I was falling in love with my husband nine years ago. :) I actually stopped typing this post when I realized that and went and reminisced with him. I kind of miss the days when we would stay up all night talking.

On NYE:
This seems to always be evolving because the big boys are getting big enough to have parties that they attend with friends. Last year it was just Scott, Landen and I, and from the plans I have heard brewing its going to be that way again...LOL
We will wait up for the NY, watch the ball fall in NYC Toast the New Year with a bottle of Sparkling Wine from a local winery-Landen will get Apple Juice, and then probably hit the hay.
On NYD:
I always fix black eyed peas and a big country ham, my mom and I do this together. We also fix a big batch of yeast rolls and make all different shapes of rolls, not sure why this is a NYD tradition, but I know it's the only time of year we actually go to all the work of this time consuming job...LOL

I'm trying to decide if I am brave enough to send the camera with Zak to let him take pictures at his party, I would love to have the pictures to scrap...so I'm leaning towards, maybe.
Connor would lever DREAM of allowing me to scrap pictures of his party, but Zak and all of his friends are HAMS, so they would love the idea!

We're not doing anything. Abby will probably try to stay up, but most likely we won't even watch the ball drop, since Jeff is supposed to be online w/ the xbox playing Halo w/ his buddies. I'm hoping for fun digi stuff to do. :)

I'm probably going to be sitting here in my recliner stalking the MB and trying to scrap. DH has to work and none of our friends have made any plans that I know of this year. My sis & future BIL invited me to Old Sac to watch the fireworks but I don't want to be out on the roads and out in the cold weather... Plus, I have the beginnings of ANOTHER cold - I think Rhett and I are passing this back and forth - so I'm really not feeling up to doing anything.

I'm going to be just doing my normal nightly stuff... it's not an exciting night for me. Just scrapping and stuff. Last year there was a big thing at DST and Robin Carlton had a bunch of trivia and I loved playing along with her! Hey Robin, you doing that again?

We should have a chat!!

isn't tonite our reg chat night anyways? any plans on that front? hehe....we could always just stalk the room ourselves lmbo

We've never been ones for partying all night, but it's sad to say that we never have plans and it's my BIRTHDAY!! We usually hang out, watch a movie, have my folks over for dinner...nothing special. Wow, are we boring

I have NO plans for NYE (well my mom will be coming in tomorrow but they'll be leaving early) so I'll be up all night and might just pop in at DST to give lots of stuff away :D I gave retired ssd collab kits away last year didnt I Julie?

Well if it's anything like past years I'll plan to be in bed before the ball drops! It's been so long since I've even stayed up till midnight! LOL!

Chat sounds great!

NYE - no plans. Chinese food sounds GREAT! Another couple invited my boyfriend and I to be with them (they go bowling and drink some beer every NYE...LOL) but unfortunately they live an hour away and it's a BORING drive so we'll pass on that!

We're not big NewYear celebraters here. Especially since we had kids. This year we are spending new years eve with some friends at their house from 6-10pm (we all have kids under age seven). Then we'll come home and probably be in bed before midnight. Jeff has to be at work at midnight anyways. NYD will be nothing. Jeff will be sleeping and the boys and I will just hang out, maybe go to my parents house for a bit. Nothing fancy.

yep, that is right! The winners got to pick a retired collab. I was SO excited about that!

We're gathering with some neighbors to celebrate NYE. We all have kids around the same age and they always have a ball together. And we hate to even think about being out on the roads. This is the first NYE I've had DH home in a while. He's usually at a bowl game but decided to stay home this year.

I'd love to go out for NYE but DH doesn't like to go out and mess with the drunk drivers. Anyway, after reading some of the posts...I may just have to agree with him and party in the New Year with my digi friends. LOL

Well I work in the morning and then Dave works 3 - midnight so I will be alone with the kids when the ball drops.. Yay .... not... Im kinda sad but I hope to hang out at DST or something

We're staying home and playing games. In this town, people will be partying at the casinos and I don't want to take any chances with the drunk drivers.

We have been on the go since Thanksgiving so we will be home probably having another family Wii challenge night.....it is nice to be home doing nothing again! LOL....I know how boring!

A chat sounds fun because we just found out that our church is having a party for the young people ages 12-18. They're having a party and locking them in for the night for a giant slumber party.

this is my 1st New Year's Eve without kids since 2001 (They are at their Dad's) My BF has to work till 9(ish) so I will be heading to my friends house early, with my Wii. We plan on having some "Adult" beverages, playing some board games and so Wii on their big screen TV.

New Years Day I go pick up my kids!

It'd be great if we all lived in the same place, could order in chinese, chat in person and scrap at the same time!! Oh well, a girl can dream!

Now that would be fun!!!!

I think Chinese is out, we're about to get nailed with our second storm in two 1/2 days, and I don't plan to drive and get it LOL. So maybe I'll make nachos!

We host a NYE party with a bonfire & fireworks. We have about 25 people (adults & kids) over for the party. The next day 8 of them rejoin us for a New Year's Day potluck brunch.

Unfortunately nothing. Hubby has to work so he won't be home until just before midnight, and that's if I'm lucky. They always have a ton of mess to get done at the end of the year. Why his company waits and makes them do it on New Year's eve I will never understand. Most everybody else will be out of there early but him and a couple other supervisors. I'll be watching the clock and waiting for him to get home.

Hmmmmmm...

Just hanging out....staying up and having a TEENY tiny glass of champagne and who knows what else .........;)
