New to our Community?

hello

HI everyone- stopping in to say hi- . I used to do a lot of digital scrapping , and had to quit for several years due to life. I am starting again and have a lot to catch up- and remember. :o thanks! Lisa Dozier

I'm a real person!!! promise….

And I'm hoping to do Project Me…. and I assume to add my photos I have to be able to edit the original post… and add attachments… So firstly can someone 'upgrade' me please?

And second where do I find out how to do the above … like edit posts and post attachments… haven't' been thru all the various help pages yet… so I could well stumble across it… fingers crossed… but I'll ask too… thanks!

Hi Kimberley!

You're all set now! So glad to have you here to play along with us!

To edit the original post, you should be able to just go back to where the post is and hit the "edit" button at the bottom of the post to the right.

To add your photos, you'll need to have the photo hosted elsewhere (like photobucket if it's a photo or our gallery here if it's a layout). When you're typing your post, you'll see a little yellow box with a mountain in it directly above the area where you type. That's the "insert image" option. Click that, and when the box pops up, you'll put in the URL for your image (it should end in .jpg or .png). This will insert it into your image with the codes wrapped around it.

Here is a tutorial that you might find helpful.

Also, until you have 10 posts, even though I've got you fixed up with permissions, the forum gets a little quirky and doesn't like it when new people post images. So, when you post an image, it may tell you that it needs to be approved. I look for those and try to approve them as I see them, but if I miss it, you're welcome to send me a private message. This shouldn't be an issue after 10 posts. You can comment on threads, start your own, or comment in the gallery to get your post count up, too. :)

I hope that answers your questions! Let us know if you need more help. The girls here are always happy to welcome new members, and we don't mind answering any questions you may have!

thank u

well I can obviously now edit posts at least… because I posted the thank u and then thought of a question…. but now I think I've answered it myself… but I'm carrying on with this to see if it will post… haha

woohoo it did!! (and again)

IDIOT NEWBIE ALERT!!!

Ok so i've finally managed to link an image into a post… via a link from photo bucket… but how do I make it small???… its HUGE!! any help would be appreciated…thank u...

You aren't an idiot!

You'll just need to resize it in Photobucket. If you go to your photo in Photobucket, up near the top by the social media icons, there is an "edit" button. If you click on that, it'll give you lots of options including resizing.

Images under 700px wide work best in the forum (just as a frame of reference).

hope that helps!

thank u Libby… I only just signed up to photo bucket too… just so I could post to this forum… I had trouble getting the links to update to the newly edited photo… but I did it finally… thank goodness… I was going crazy with it… haha...

Hi, just popping in. I'm looking for a new digi-home and am checking out all that SSD has to offer! :)

I'm a SAHM to 4 girls ages 12, 11, 9, and 7 (with only one bathroom...yikes!) My husband works 2 jobs so I can stay home with the girls! I love traveling (Disney is my favorite), reading, planning trips, photography and spending time with my family! I recognize a few names already, and hope to get to know others!

Hi, I'm new in the forum. I am looking around and hope to come often. :)
I'm a SAHM of a (almost) 13 boy and two cats. I love scrapping, specially digiscrap.

My signature image is not showing up and I have no idea why. Is the ticker image ok to have with the signature? I know it is on most forums but haven't been able to figure that out for sure here.

Hi April!

It looks like you have it loaded to the SSD gallery right now. I can't see how your coding is, but I'm guessing you are linking to the actual SSD gallery URL instead of the image URL.

For signatures, it's really best to load it somewhere offsite like Photobucket. Once you upload it there, you'll see the IMG code that you can just paste over here when you edit your signature.

Hi All! I'm Stephanie. I'm a homeschooling mom of 4, ages 13, 12, 10, and 8. I live in Oklahoma. Along with scrapping, I'm an aspiring author (trying) to work on my first novel. :P

New to these forums, but not to digi-scrapping, though I'm coming off a fairly long break. I think I just got burnt out. But our trip to Disney in the fall got me going again, wanted to make an album for that. (A huge WIP, that is.) And I'm just loving scrapping again. Looking forward to getting to know y'all.

Also, wondering if anyone has advice for the best settings for saving for web. I use PSPX6 and the two layouts I just loaded are not very crisp. Like I said, it's been quite a while since I was last active and have forgotten how to make them look better. Thanks!

Hey Stephanie! Welcome! Sounds like you'll fit right in here as we have several homeschooling moms AND avid readers among us! :) I even know where Owasso is! LOL (I grew up in NW Arkansas and currently live in Wichita... been through the Tulsa area more times than I can count).

I'm not familiar with PSP, but we do have a great tutorial section that covers a variety of topics. I found this tutorial on saving for web using PSP. I hope it's helpful to you!

Anyway, I've got your account all fixed up, so jump in and post away! :)

Thanks Libby, I'll check that out! And very cool that you know where Owasso is. No one ever knows and usually I just say I live north of Tulsa. People have at least heard of that. ;)

Hi there! I'm Jan, long time lurker looking to join in some of the fun! I've been around digi-land for 8+ years now and still enjoy every second of it. I live in southern West Virginia with my DH of 9 years, my 18 year old daughter, and 8 year old son. I also have a 22 year old son, who is on his own. In my other life, I'm a high school special education teacher. Looking forward to hanging out more and getting to know everyone!

Hello fellow sweeties! I have finally decided to share some of my scrap layouts, mostly Project Life style pages.

I live on Ohio and have a 2 yr old daughter, 2 dogs and a husband that fill my time when I'm not working in the finance/accounting world. Scrapping is my outlet! Can't wait to get some inspiration from you all and thanks for having such a fun group!!!
