New laptop!!!

I bought myself a new laptop!! My mom and stepdad gave me $600 for Christmas ... I have debated since then what I wanted to get ... and my old laptop has been having more and more troubles ...

This is what I got ...



I got an i7 laptop for $600 (about $200 less than anywhere else I could find for the exact same model ...including online!) ...

It also weighs 2 pounds lighter than my previous laptop...that I will enjoy because it sure bothered my shoulder to carry the old one. I am going to let my teens use the old one for 3D design and printing until it finally dies. ...and maybe just watch Netflix on it while I scrap like crazy on this one (it could do both ... but why?) LOL

I couldn't seem to find an i7 for a better price in what I wanted (10 key pad was a must) ... only downfall is that my 2nd hard drive from my old HP laptop (500GB) won't fit into this one because it only has one drive bay.

CS3 seems to load in a lot less time than on the old computer! I need to try scrapping with this computer and see how long the battery lasts ... am curious.

Thanks ladies ... just loved the price ... still adding software programs to it before I do a Win 7 image backup (I love love love that feature of Windows 7!!) ... but have been busy with some homeschool stuff ...

...but what I have done on it so far it sure seems faster than the old laptop ... looking forward to really running it through it's paces this weekend when I get some time to scrap! ... I know CS3 loads a lot quicker ... and loading HUGE PDF files in Chrome are a FLASH!

Thanks! I run into that too ... but my parents gave me money for Christmas ... dh is buying the parts to build a CNC machine with his Christmas money ... so that gave me the "no guilt" for using my Christmas money to buy a laptop! My old one I imagine will go kaput by Summer ... but in the meantime the teens can use it for the 3D Printer classes that our hackerspace is teaching ... it can run the software needed for it ...

Oh me too!!! My favorite toy is still my HP Touchpad ... the guys at the hackerspace* we belong to hacked it and added Android to it ... so now it does so much more than the original OS did ... I can run all the android apps on it ... and it was only $150 for a tablet!!! No way dh would have let me spend $500+ on a tablet to "play with".

*Hackerspace: as in they make things ... or hack them (take things apart) to make them better ... they are the "good guys" ... they are into 3D printing, making jewelry, robotics ... and all kinds of fun things!!
