I'm tired of my kids misplacing or losing the checks and/or cash they get from relatives for Christmas, so I'm replacing those checks/cash this year with these certificates. At least if they get lost we aren't out any money!
You could also make them out toward a specific store or a certain toy type (like legos) if you wanted to do some post-Christmas shopping with your family members.
