Netflix question

So I finally bit the bullet and got a subscription to Netflix. I signed up for their 2 week trial and added Crossing Jordan seasons 1-5 to my queue......they were all available (with no wait time). In the 2 week time (I had till Sept 3rd to cancel and not be charged) I got and watched all of season 1 and was expecting to get an email today (they received my last movie on the 1st) saying the first disc of season 2 has been shipped.

I just went and checked my account and now all of those movies I had in my queue now say Availability: UNKNOWN!!! What the heck!!!

Anyone have this happen or know what this means!?!

UGh it just feels like they had my "hopes up" for my trial period and as soon as they got my money......bam they are gonna jerk me around!!!!

That's really wierd. We've been Netflix members for about 7 years and haven't had any trouble. I would hate to think they did that on purpose.

I'm showing that they are unavailable, too - perhaps you misread what was actually available (since season one comes in multi-discs..maybe that's what was available?) and can be saved for release in the future.

I've never had a problem with them ever. They are quick to respond when a disc doesn't arrive at either location on time (either coming to our house or going to their facility) and have replaced quite a few discs that were damaged in route or by the last user quickly without needing to get the original back first. I love Netflix.

I do not like netflix. when I had them on trial I got my movies one right after the other and as soon as I started a paid subscription they went down to like one every four or five days. Then I had to put my subscription on hold and they changed the subscription plan with no notification and so I was getting fewer movies then ever before so I cancelled them and now every month several times a month I get emails from them asking me to come back. Same thing with blockbuster. I just rent my movies from redbox which is in msot walmarts and it is only 1 dollar a day, no late fees and if you keep it longer then 25 days I think they just charge for the disk which I believe is set at 25 dollars. Im not sure about that. My husband works right next to a walmart though so he picks up a movie and drops it off on the way to work the next day.

I just looked up Crossing Jordan also and the season 2 and beyond say, "Release date is unknown; availability is not guaranteed". I see that they can be saved to the que, but not added to the que which means they must not have them anymore or never have had them in stock. ?? I have a few kids movies that aren't new on my que also, but they show as release date unknown. I'm not sure why they are even in their database then, unless someone lost them?

I would think maybe I did too, but I CLEARLY remember hitting the the red "ADD ALL" button. And now it's just a green "SAVE" button. I also remember "ranking" them in 1-5 order. Why would it have me rank movies that were not released??

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see what's up.

Thanks for your responses girls!

Well, I'm thinking that maybe since they send only 1 disc at a time - even in a multi-pack, that maybe that was season 1 you were doing? I'm definitely not arguing, so don't get me wrong.

Julie - I think they have most listings for available movies in the database. Sometimes people do lose them, sometimes they've been slated for release and then never are, etc. We've got a ton in the saved, just in case they're ever picked up LOLOL

When it shows the green "Save" button that means that it is not yet available to rent. I just checked and the only season of Crossing Jordan that is even out on DVD yet is Season 1 and it just came out in May 08. That is why they won't be able to send it to you, it's not available at all yet. When you save it with the green button it puts it in a separate part of your queue and once it is actually released to the public they will automatically move it to your regular queue. We do this all the time with movies that are currently out in the theatre that we know we want to rent later on, that way we don't have to keep track of when they come out on DVD!
