I had a hard time finding a cover for mine...I ended up with just a Speck Fitfolio from Target on clearance..it's cute and protects it plus it was like $14 instead of the usual $35
I have the Belkin on my Kindle and I loved it..they didn't have any ipad mini ones in the store when I first got mine otherwise I probably would have gone with that before the Speck
I just have the regular smart cover from Apple. But, I'm a minimalist when it comes to cases. I don't like to cover up the prettiness and thinness of the device itself.
I have this one from SwitchEasy. It's okay protection wise but it's darn hard to switch off because the case covers the button and its made of hard plastic. I'm okay with that since I don't really turn off the ipad but when we wre flying to Los Angeles and had to switch it off came the hassle. To be honest I bought it because it was the only pink case at the store that time. I'm still searching for the perfect case.
When we first got ours - there were not many choices that were not pricey. I found one on Amazon for Easter for my dd that she likes so far - similar to the Apple one but less in price.
We have a Griffin Defender (I think that is the name). It is rather unattractive but gives good protection...with a three year old that loves to play ABC apps and watch PBS videos protection is really important for us (not to mention a clumsy 30 something woman. Thus far the case has been great. The volume controls are a bit difficult to use but not impossible and the speaker is covered by a flap. The flap swivels around which allows the speaker work fine. The case is very durable and seems to give excellent shock protection (if dropped) and screen protection too. So all in all while not really pretty it is very functional and seems to protect our iPad really well. Hope this helps. Oh, I think we paid between $45 and $55 for it.
I have the iPad 3rd generation not the mini but I absolutely love my BookBook cover and they do have it in a mini version. They are a bit pricey but they are really well made and they are genuine leather so I think they are worth the price, and I love that it looks like an old book! My Mom ended up ordering the same one for hers since she liked mine so much.
I got a {different from Meg's} clearance one from Target. Actually, two- a pink chevron and a teal striped one. They're okay. But the case covers the screen buttons sometimes, especially in the upper lefthand corner.
I'll be watching this thread. Although I think I'm with Lydia... I may end up just getting a smart cover.
