Need Help with new PS CC

Okay, I bought a yearly subscription to CC and have been using it for awhile, but after the last update, everything is amiss and I can't seem to figure out how to fix my issues. I cannot move any layers now unless I CTRL-T and the only options to place are now "Place Linked" or "Place Embedded". I've been using "Place Linked" but is this right? I also can't select layers by just clicking on them, I have to use the side panel and this is a real time suck for me. Does anyone else have this problem now or did I switch my settings or something? Thanks!

Have you got Auto-Select ticked up top? That sounds like it got unchecked & why you can't auto select.

What Megs said....happens to me all the time and I've been using it for FOREVER....right there at the top left.
