Need help with actions

Hi ladies,

I am trying to install some actions in PSE6 but am having a really hard time. I can't seem to find the Photo Effects folder. I have set Vista to show all the hidden folders and I still can't find it. How in the world can I get them installed if I can't find that folder. Has anyone else had this problem?
 
I'm not 100% sure this works with PSE (it does with PS) .... but you may just try dragging and dropping them into the PSE icon on your quick launch bar. That's how I do it. Sorry, I'm not more help.
 
I guess my real problem right now is I can't find the Photo Creations/ Photo Effects folder anywhere. I even selected show hidden folders...still not there :( What should I do? Do I need to reinstall PSE6?
 
Wish I had found the Hummie's tutorial before cobbling together a method!

Becky, the only thing I can suggest is to make sure you are in the Program Data subsection rather than Program files....

C:\Program Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Photo Creations\photo effects

and it may show up as image effects rather than photo effects, but with Vista it should likely be photo effects...
 
Oh, I hope not! reinstalling anything is a PITA...
The hidden file in Vista is likely the Program Data subsection -- can you see it?

C:\Program Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Photo Creations\photo effects

You are the smartest woman I know!!! The Program Data folder was grey so I thought I couldn't click on it. Sure enough, it is in there. I feel stupid but very relieved I found it. On to the next step.
 
Thanks for the link. All that work to install an action makes my eyes cross. It's why I've only attempted it a couple times,lol.
