Need good healthy {{{{vibes}}}}}...

My new puppy is not feeling very well and I'm sure I'm overreacting but I'm a little bit worried about her. She's not drinking water, though she is eating and she has been having a lot of tummy aches and throwing up.
My older dog, Angel, did the same thing when she came to live with us because her belly could not stand the Purina brand dog food and we had to go to Nutro, so I'm hoping that this is the same case with Bella.

DH is going to bring home some Nutro this evening from work and I'm going to nurse her with some fluids. She's only been with us for a week but I am already so attached and have been crying over this like a little weenie baby.
blech.
If you could just send good healthy puppy vibes (or prayers if you are so inclined) I would appreciate it.
:(

Mandy, I'd take her into the vet if this continues past tonight. Better to be safe than sorry, and she might be really sick.

I know, if it lasts longer than today and tonight into tomorrow, Dh will probably take her into the vet to be sure but UGH, I hate this whole ordeal.
She seems to be in good spirits other than her belly ache and is resting now - she's not lethargic or anything like that so I'm hoping that this is just a case of that nasty Purina stuff.

Oh ok. If she's not lethargic it probably is just an upset tummy from the food. But you should really get her to try and drink some water. Puppies can get dehydrated SO easily.

If the Nutro doesn't help, she might have a food allergy. Could be something as simple as that :) I'll keep sending the good vibes!!

That's what I'm hoping. I'm about to leave for work so I took her out again one more time and she was running all over the yard like a banshee and wrestling with our outdoor kitty. So thats a good thing and DH is bringing home a medicine syringe so I can get some water in her if she wont drink some herself.
Thanks for the vibes ladies!

Aw, poor thing. A few questions though that might help. Did you feed her the same thing she was eating as the breeder was feeding her? Sometimes if you switch foods on a dog(and especially a puppy) it can throw thier tummies out of whack. So changing foods may help(if its food related) or it might not. If it was me I'd feed a bland diet of hamburger&rice for a few days to see if it resolves. Once she's settled then slowly mix the new food in with the hamburger and rice, each feeding giving her a little more of the dry food and a little less of the burger&rice. Also, it sometimes helps to give them a little plain yogurt too. They need good flora just like us. Oh and to get some fluids in her you can try pedialyte, or if that doesn't work you can try ice cubes. My dog had gastroenteritis when he was a puppy and we ended up paniced at the ER vet at 2am because he couldn't keep anything down and was acting really off. He ended up on some pills for the gas and he recovered really quickly. So I do know how you're feeling. I truly hope she's feeling better soon.

Oh, and please post a picture! I LOVE puppies!!!!!

Okay...don't get grossed out but is her poo okay?...when our border collie was a pup he was having these symptoms as well and it turns out he had worms. Sounds disgusting but you can get the over the counter stuff at wal-mart and it kills them in a few days. His poo looked like he'd swallowed a bunch of rubber bands. After a few days though he was perfectly fine.

Emily, awesome suggestions that totally slipped my mind, lol!
Plain, unflavored yogurt mixed with rice does wonders for Tiger when she's got the runs, lol. Plain boiled chicken is also good. Bland stuff is easy on the tummy and does wonders!

And def check the poops. Rubber band poops are bad. But just diarrhea isn't too much to get worried about yet.

Nope, no worms, I have had experiences with those before...BLECH!
But i will say that I think puppy is feeling better. She peed (no dehydration yay!) and just drank on her own! WOOT!
She also didn't soil her kennel while I was at work so that is good news!
