This is probably a dumb question, but if I remove someone from my friends, what happens? Will they know right away? Will it show up in my news feed? I am assuming not, since I've never seen it before and can't be the only person looking to lose someone. ;)

A guy from high school recently "friended" me and has apparently turned into an icky, creepy guy in the past 16 years. I am certainly not interested in reading about the gross stuff he know occupies himself with and would like to remove him without creating drama, if possible.

TIA!

They may or may not notice right away. If he regularly goes to your page, he'll notice right away because you can't see the page if you're not a friend (I don't think you can anyway).

Deleting a friend or declining a friendship request will never appear in your news feed, and no notice is sent to the person you delete/decline.

I think you might be able to hide from him too, but let me check the settings.

Yea go to settings ~> manage privacy settings
At the bottom of that page you can enter in his name to block him. Then he won't even be able to see your profile.

Thanks! I can't believe I need to hide from a dorky guy in high school... (I guess I really don't; but why be grossed out every time I log in?!)
