I'm having an anxiety attack here about going back to college... I can do it right??? I mean, it doesn't matter that the field I'm going to study is a math-heavy field and I only barely passed math in high school, right? RIGHT?!!?!? I'm smarter now, I can process more without the silliness of high school and hormones in the way... RIGHT!?!:unsure:

I'm meeting with a guidance counselor on Tuesday just to get the feel for the school and whatnot... I MAY take summer courses but likely, I'll enroll next Fall... anyways, I feel like my head is spinning. :( Spin.ning.

Seriously, you can do it! It's very different as an adult vs when you were in highschool.

Annie...Judging by the you I have come to know here, I can safely assume that you can do anything you put your mind to.

Plus, it helps to have math teacher friends (that's right...who teaches math? This guy!!!)

No worries!

I have been thinking about going back to school too and am just as nervous. I feel like Im to old to go back now and would feel silly with all those young kids just out of high school.

Yes, you can totally do it!! My husband is 47 years old and is graduating in 2 weeks from college!! He worked fulltime (60+ hours a week) and went to college fulltime too. I absolutely believe you can do it because I've watched my husband do it for the last 4 years! Congratulations on your decision!!

DUUUUUDE I totally forgot you taught math! Agh, you'd be so embarassed to know me. I still count on my fingers sometimes. Yeah, I said it.

Ugh, I KNOW! I'm actually fairly lucky in that respect because I still get carded for Rated R movies but STILL... it'd be weird.

lol yeh I TOTALLY intend on relying heavily on aaron when I go back to school LOL .. math + la.. not friends.

Annie, I am SURE you can do it! You rock, my love!

My math issues are the sole reason I have not gone back. I struggled so badly, and had to study so much just to pass, and to do well, I had to work my ass off for hours a day.

LOL! Math and I are... hmm... friends of friends... I can DO it if I can see what it applies to but math all by itself is a dirty, dirty mistress and I dun like her. *crosses arms*

mmm yes. I'm WAY better with applied math -- like in sciences.. LOL I'll be fine with my physics classes etc.. just plain ole boring math.. *yawn* no.

Annie, you can do it!!! And if Aaron can't help with the math...contact me. Andrew's a bona fide math, chemistry, and physics teacher (ok, German too, but I doubt you'd need that?). He's been tutoring another friend of mine through some of her classes for the last three semesters. (She's not local either, so it is doable.)

You can doooooooo it!! Don't let it overwhelm you, it's totally doable!
Would it ease your mind to know that I do math pretty much 7 days a week as an engineer, and I use my calculator to add things like 12+12 or 53+7  (I'm WAY to reliant on my calculator, lol)

Annie, you can TOTALLY do it!! I'm thinking of going back to school, myself...but via correspondence and online study.

Absolutely you can do this Annie.. I stunk/stink at math also. Lucky for me, my other studies made up for my stinkin' math grades throughout college.

I'm looking to do something else and perhaps go back to school for a different degree. I have taught for the last 10 years and I'm pretty much D-O-N-E with education.

I wish you lots of luck!! Your kiddos will be so excited & proud to watch you walk across the stage. :)

Annie, you can do it!!!! I have faith in you....They do have classes for Math for people who did not excel in it in High School....I believe they just work at a slower pace....

You can do it :) I went back for my Masters a couple years ago..and wow so much diff as an adult vs hormonal teen/early 20's lol...

My major was heavily math involved..you can do it!! (have a business math/finance undergrad degree)

Okay, if I can do it with 5 kids, you can soooooo do it.
I started last January at the ripe old age of 33. I planned on taking one class. I got full financial aid. But I had to be a full time student. So I took four. I made Dean's List. I took night classes. That was good, less teens, less intimidating. Last semester I took day classes because my kids were all in full day school. no daycare issues. And I am quite popular with the 18-55 crowd. hahaha. I didn't think I would like hanging out with snotty young people, but I do. I made some amazing friends this past year. And now I have friends in all my classes. I am taking 5 classes this time around. I can't even tell you how much I love school. And I am overwhelmed and thrilled to death.

You can do it Annie! I was 28, pregnant and throwing up every day all day and working full time and I did it! Piece of cake!

You can do it! I teach college courses and I can say with certainty that the students I've had who've returned to college after not being in school for years are very conscientious, and bring a lot of experience and maturity that allows them to thrive in college.

Yes, you can do it!
