so I reloaded Vista for nothing but atleast everything is backed up! And I FINALLY figured out what was causing it...without HP's help at all
I assumed it wasn't the mouse because it was doing it while I was using the touchpad too. But at some point yesterday (after the reload of course) I realized that even when I was using the touchpad, I still had the mouse's usb plugged in.
So of course I unplugged it and everything was working just fine. :glare:
Then I was off to find out why my mouse was posessed.
Turns out, most mice are plug and use, but Logitech generally comes with software that helps you optimize your mousing experience
This is my 3rd identical Logitech Mini Optical Mouse (hey that's what happens when you have a toddler) and I don't recall any of them coming with software but I was advised by a friend to check their website in case I accidentally threw the software away. I've also been using this exact mouse for 2 years on three different laptops and this is the first time I've had a problem.
Sure enough, there was software. I downloaded it and the problem was solved immediatley. They must have made an update to it that made using it impossible without the software...or somethin'. All I care is that it is solved.
I'm only slightly bummed about the reload...I somehow lost one month of photos and one kit that didn't transfer properly. The kit was an already used CT kit, so no biggie there, but my June 2008 didn't transfer right
At least it wasn't May, when Parker was born, or July, when David left...but still...a whole month of photos gone, stinks. But it could be SOOOO much worse so I'm gonna get over it
Also, I generally scrap my photos right away so some of them are preserved in layouts...so that's good!
