my wandering eye

i like to look, human nature, so, as i was indulging in some eye candy this afternoon, i was thinking...

are you married to (or dating, or involved, or have dated) someone who fits your 'type?'

for example, i'm always attracted to dark men. dark skin, dark hair, dark eyes, tall, bigger...anyway, i'm married to a man who is tall and bigger, but he has reddish hair and very light skin LOL

am i odd man out?

Big shoulders, a killer smile, and is funny... gets me every time... and that is what my hubby has. :o

I don't feel like I have a "type" really. I dated a few different guys before Jordan and they were pretty different, in my eyes. And my wandering eyes are attracted to all different kinds of guys.

Jordan's eyes sucked me right in though. He has amazing blue eyes. Then his arms. I love big strong arms.

the only thing I could not do with out is a handsome face ... a man that gives great face gets me every time, and I do happen to love dh's beautiful eyes, his smile, facial hair, etc <3 However... when looking at eye candy, I can just appreciate any beautiful man, white, black, asian, tall, short, fat, who cares .... there just needs to be that "something"

oh that too...the big strong arms, I love feeling like a small woman next to a big man

Yup. I always seem to be most attracted to guys like P with this exception:

Which, now that I look at him shares a lot of traits with P. So let's go with:

Apparently I like big bushy eyebrows.

Tim does NOT fit what my typical dating guy was...in fact when we started dating and I really started having feelings for him and though he was the one, I kept saying, "but he isn't MY type".....I ALWAYS dated dark hair, dark eyes, tan, stocky football type.....I am married to a freckled, blonde hair, blue eyed, light burning man....who is NOT at the least bit athletic and is WAY tall...like jolly green giant tall!!!

my hubby is blonde...well, he WAS blonde...he's bald now. of course, his type was blonde, and I'm definitely not. :)

i'm so glad i'm not alone...and krystal...i may just start posting shizz on your fb wall. we have VERY similar taste.

t...i snorted at the busy eyebrow comment LOL

LOL...can I answer this question at some point in the future when I have a SO to compare to? :p

I'm typically attracted to guys who have dark hair and are tall and I love facial hair (goatees get me every time, lol). Eye color hasn't ever been a huge thing for me as far as guys I like, but I DO love green eyes. And as much as it grosses some people out...I like chest hair. Not like a rug, but a decent sprinkling ;)

Oh my! Me likey the eye candy that's posted here too! :D

DH's totally my type. Blonde, light colored eyes...mmm just like this one!

But I'm telling you, those dark-haired, blue eyed hotties above would totally do for me too!

All through HS and college...........my type was dark complexion (usually hispanic, African american or biracial). Seriously........my serious relationship before my hubby was named Juan Martinez. Enough said.

My hubby is very much WHITE but still has the dark hair. SO I guess I just went half way out of my normal with him. LOL

The common thread in all of them.............very much sarcastic and totally can give back the crap I dish out. :)

My eye doesn't wander much anymore....other then say for a few choice male actors. But in my younger days I always dated tall lanky guys and drooled over them too! I married a brick house!! :D :D He is tall (6" 2') but he has the shoulders of a linebacker and while he's not body builder muscly...he's well built and very "solid"!!

Well I still look and salivate. ;) I dated a variety of guys as far as looks, ethnicity etc. goes. When I met my DH I swore he wasn't my type but I think it had more to do with personality, we were really different as far as background, interests etc.

I've always been attracted to big tall, often blond guys, and DBF is all that. My mom used to joke that I should date a viking! LOL Being tall and quite big myself, I wouldn't like a guy who is smaller than me! Oh, and on the non-physical part, he has to be at least as smart as me, which DBF is too. Life is good! Yeah!

My type is Harrison Ford & Nathan Fillion - ruggedly handsome but smart men.

My husband is not quite ruggedly handsome and while I can't say for sure I think mathmatically & technically he is probably smarter than they are. He also has darker hair & fairer skin

On the "are you hubby's type" side, I have to laugh. Jordan actually does NOT like blondes and never dated one, and when we met, I had my hair dark. Either my natural mousey-blah brunette, or it might have even been a touch red. But my favorite way to have my hair is with great blonde highlights. He HATES it, lol. Well, he deals with it, but he doesn't love it as much as I do. I always found that funny for some reason.

And for non-physical, Jordan makes me laugh like no other man ever has, and it's the best. :) Gotta have a sense of humor and be able to take the cr@p that I can dish out, which he does almost too well sometimes :p

I am attracted to blonde hair blue eyed guys usually. My husband had blonde hair when I met him from working in the sun so much but he has green eyes. They remind me of cat eyes. Also they have to be funny or at least funny to me. I do not like clean shaven guys. My hubby has a beard and mustache. I hate when he shaves it all off. I wish he trimmed it more often but I can deal with it the way it is now.

ETA:Aside from famous people (actors, musicians etc) I do not really look at other men much anymore. I do not even notice them LOL

First off, Chloe, if you find a Viking, send him my way? ;)

My mom always loved Tall, dark, handsome (think Michael Landon...)
She got short, stubby, and COMPLETELY grey hair. Lol

Now this guy, Aurelien Collin, he is more my type...
63492_10150266624360580_680795579_14648149_7653389_n.jpg

He is a French soccer player who plays for my favorite team.

NO, very much NO, DH is very far from my 'type'.

Ideally... tall, clean cut, 'cowboy/rugged/blue collar' type....
DH short, stubby, not real 'cowboy', but blue collar worker...oh yeah, & old (for me)! hahaha

I don't really have a type beside dark hair and I didn't get that with hubby...he has light brown hair which used to be blond.

I don't think I ever had a type. I just liked whatever boys were cute and/or showed me attention. I do still find myself attracted to guys who show me attention. {sigh} I seriously have to guard my heart; that thing could really get me in trouble if it had its way.

Joel is a perfect fit for me in like a zillion ways: we like the same music, agree on politics and religion and life in general, he makes me laugh, he knows EXACTLY what to say when I'm pushing crazy, the same people annoy us, and we both love living overseas. Plus even after 13 years together, he's still totally hot to me.

My type is tall, tall men (like well over 6') who are build solid and have dark hair with lighter eyes (especially those brilliant blue ones). A rugged manly man. I don't have a SO now, but the guy I have been seeing fits this well.

I always was attracted to dark-haired, blue-eyed (think Pierce Brosnan), so I totally didn't marry my "type", but I was lucky to have found him at age 22 after not much dating. Twelve years later, my eyes wander all the time and can totally appreciate this thread. I've found that I don't have a type...blond, dark, short, tall, muscled or sinewy, I like 'em all!

Like Krystal, I LOVE the whole light eyes/dark hair combo. I also find I like Mr Darcy-type guys: arrogant but inside super passionate. I also realized I had a tendency to crush on guys wearing glasses :p

Mark is my Mr Darcy, because when you first meet him, he really can sound very formal and arrogant. And, hee, he wears glasses

This is me. I drool over tall men. Like, really tall too over 6' (Josh Duhamel, The Rock). I love the rugged, macho type guy with some facial hair usually and if he has a six pack....hold me back. :p I love bald men too. Distinguished is sexy (Bruce Willis, Sean Connery). And I must admit I have a real thing for the bad boy image so I drool over quite a few bikers I know. ;) I like guys with some "bulk" to them too. I don't like them very tall and skinny. I also love tattoos! Not too many but a few are sexy.

My #1 man is Matthew McConaughey

My hubby fits my type as far as the rugged, macho type....bald with facial hair. He is 5' 11" so tall enough to make me feel small still. And that's just looks. He is a real bad boy but he is also a real good man. Treats me like a princess so I will keep him! :D

I have a type. It has evolved over time, but I finally recognized it a few years ago...as DUMB as it's gonna sound. A little bit Hipster mixed with a little bit nerd. I've never been as attracted to looks as I have personalities. I NEED that personality. It complements me :)

Yes. This. <3

I definitely think I have a type, but in reality I don't. I like the entire tall, dark and handsome thing, but none of the men I've dated have a single thing in common looks, build or personality wise. For me, the attraction builds as I get to know someone. I could not stand my husband when I first met him; I thought he was arrogant. He was very handsome and used to women fawning on him and he totally got on my nerves. Why he pursued me, I have no idea, but once I got to really know him I fell hard and fast. Never felt for anyone else what I did for him, but I'm hoping to experience it again someday. That butterfly in the tummy feeling every time you see him that isn't based on looks, personality or anything tangible, but the knowledge that this man compliments and completes you.
