My videocamera died...

so I need to replace it. Any suggestions? I am toying with getting an iphone, but I wonder if the quality of video is good enough that I wouldn't need to replace the videocamera. Any advice/info would be appreciated! I know next to nothing about iphones, but I love my imac much more than I thought i would when we bought it, and figure the same would probably be true of the iphone.

I know I took videos with my droid the other day and they came out pretty good. I would imagine the Iphone is comparable...

the iphone video is pretty good quality but it's no match for a good video camera. At this point if you are considering an iphone I'd wait for the iphone5 that's coming out in September :) I'd go for a reg video camera or the flip or maybe a good P&S with HD Video

I have a flip video, and I LOVE it. It's so portable and easy to use and upload video. Plus you can capture still shots with it.

We bought a Sony HD handycam (HDR CX-150) from Best Buy at Thanksgiving to replace our really ancient tape camcorder. We love it. It is seriously tiny - videoing is a breeze and downloading is a piece of cake. The video is truly amazing. It is looks awesome on our 52" television. I would highly recommend it.

I have a Kodak Play Sport. It's waterproof and takes amazing videos. Also switches to still camera, 5mp. Low light doesn't create good still shots, but natural lighting... they're just as good as a p and s digi cam. It's just about the size of my cell phone and takes a regular SD card, so I can pop it right into my computer. I love it!

I'm seriously considering the play sport, esp. since we are going to a waterpark as part of our family vacation next month. My only hesitation is that I bought a digital camera a few months ago with a waterproof case, and it died within 30 minutes of being in the water... on the great barrier reef in Australia, no less! I realize having a waterproof case is not the same, just not sure about my luck :p

zx3. It says it can go underwater up to 10 ft, so I imagine it's pretty splash resistant.

here's a still I toook with it, btw
