My turn for some hugs

We had a vicious rain storm over the weekend, and we thought a bit of water got in on one side of the basement. It wasn't flooded, nothing serious, we figured we'd have to throw out a few boxes with books or something or other.

I was insanely busy at work the past two days, so I didn't have time to get on it until this morning. The water went everywhere. Christmas gifts, boxes, books, everything is saturated on the bottom. Luckily we have a pick up and Tony can go to the dump with this stuff, but my Christmas gifts! *sob*

All the boxes are ruined, I just hope the gifts inside is ok. Like Amelia's Barbie is wet, but I think it's just the box. I hope the skirt on the Barbie isn't wet. I am heartbroken about it, I've had to throw away my school year books all kinds of stuff. I have most stuff in plastic containers, but not everything. I had to toss a box with some of the kids stuff when they were babies, I didn't really go through it because I didn't want to know.

I'm going to grab some soup or something, then get back into it. :(
 
Oh no Jamie! I'm so sorry {{{HUGS}}} I hope you get everything dried out soon and can salvage as much as possible.
 
Oh no Jamie!! That's awful. WE had our basement flood when I was home still (I was in HS) and it was really heartbreaking. We lost a lot of stuff. :( I really hope that the gifts and things will still be ok!!
 
Awww, Jamie...I'm sorry!! :( We had a pipe spring a leak in our basement once a few years ago and it got all of our boxes wet, we had to throw out a LOT of stuff...

I have a guy here measuring our floor right now because our bathroom flooded on Sunday. We just put this wood floor in 2 years ago this month. :( And now I may have to wait to get my decorations put up.

I hope you can save some of the stuff!!!
 
Oh no.... I hope that his is the case where it looks worse than it is. Good luck. So sorry that this happened! It really sucks.
 
Oh Jamie! I'm so sorry honey! Our basement flooded once and a lot of stuff got ruined, so I know how you feel. I'm terribly sorry about the Christmas stuff. :)

Oh no, that stinks, Jamie! I'll never forget the day I got home from a nice lunch, in a great mood in spite of the torrential downpour outside and went bouncing down the stairs to get the laundry only to see the cat's litter box floating past the bottom of the stairs. It's such a sick feeling. :(

I'm so sorry. {{{{HUGS}}}} I hope the presents are okay at the very least.

Thanks guys, I went down there and had to throw away tons of books and things. I have more to do, but it is Tony's birthday, so I will save the guy from having to help me.

We're just going to dry out the kids gifts the best we can, and if it's no good, we'll have to replace them. There are some that were wrapped, that I have to rewrap. :thumbdown:

aw, Jaime, so sorry it happened. Hopefully you had a good birthday celebration with your hubby and things are looking even better.
