Ok my mom's 70th birthday is coming up...here is what I have planned...
1. Pick her up about 9:15 on her birthday...
2. Drive her to a Day spa about 1/2 hour from home (it's in a cool lil town)
.....deep cleansing facial
.....spa pedicure
.....and manicure
3. Then across the street to this really cool antiques store (pretty big)
4. Out to lunch
5. Back home to her house...where hopefully my sister will drive in from out of town and the 3 of us will stay the night at her house...
6. Dinner (no idea...snacks...food? who knows)
7. Chick flick night
---What's up doc? (Barbra Streisand...a fave of ours)
---Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
---Lakehouse (another fave of ours)
---The Perfect Man
---Mama Mia! (another fave of ours)
---other movies??
8. Breakfast (maybe easy pecan rolls? posted the recipe in my gallery today)
....Okay what I need help with...
....I need a birthday card for my mom...I would like to give it to her that morning when I arrive...should I put an agenda on it? should I just make it a birthday card and let her know how special she is to me?
...should I make a "here's playing" movie list to have at her house with the movies when we get back...or what? I want to make this 24 hours very special for my mom. ...should I make a food and snack list like a menu?
If you have made some special cards before that might inspire me...I'd love to see them. I took my mom to the hospital a couple of years ago when she had a "strange feeling"...and it turned out to be her heart...she ended up with angioplasty and some stents put in. It was then that made me realize that moments are precious...she is turning 70 and her dh works out of town and I just want to make this a very special memory for her.
I'd love some ideas to think about!! I'm about tapped out money-wise with the day spa with just those 3 things for the two of us...so can't do super exotic on the food...but welcome ideas...things that taste really good but are SUPER SIMPLE to make...since we will be gone all day...would be nice if I could make up or pick up ahead of time...and since it is just movies...ideas of things to eat?
I don't want to stress myself out...but I want to make it very special for her.
Thank you very much...you all are the most creative girls I know!
