My little dude is on his way to the hospital. Last night at about 4am, Natalie came running into our room "Mason needs your help...he peed in the hallway" so I got up, quite confused, lol. He was standing in the middle of the hallway, he'd peed all over, but I wasn't so upset about that as I was about his eyes.

They were literally GLUED shut with mucus. He's had a head cold the last few days and it's been getting progressively worse with mucus coming out his eyes, but last night just cinched it for me. He was bawling (and the tears were having to mix with the nasty stuff and dripping down his cheek) because he couldn't open his eyes so he couldn't see, so he couldn't find his way to the bathroom. :(

I managed to get him calmed down and then DH came and got his eyes cleaned up so he could open them, then he had a shower and got rid of all the nasties...he slept in our bed (but I'm not really sure why, lol) and DH just left with him to get it checked out. I don't think his eyes were glued shut this morning when he woke up.

I really wasn't too concerned because Natalie had this a couple weeks ago and it cleared up on it's own, but his just kept getting worse and worse (probably because he was always rubbing his eyes with his hands or shirtsleeve, I guess).

That sounds just like Naomi looked when she had a bad case of periorbital cellulitis...we had to go to the ER too :(

I hope he gets better REAL soon!
 
Hope Mason gets to feeling better!! ((hugs)) I have to say when I saw hospital and Mason, my heart just stopped for a sec. Whew.
 
Poor Mason! Hope they give him some meds to get the gunkies gone and that he feels better soon.
 
Oh poor little guy. I couldnt imagine having to go potty so bad and just finally having to give up for not being able to find it. So sad.
I hope he feels better soon.
 
awww, poor guy. That would be sooo hard. I hope he gets better soon and no one else gets that bug.
 
My heart stopped, too. Poor little guy. I'm sorry he's on his way to the hospital, but I'm so glad to hear it's just for a terrible cold!
 
:( poor little bubby. MY DS got a viral eye infection last time he had a really really bad cold/flu kinda thing. It was awful. Hope he is better soon.
 
Thanks for all the thoughts, girls. DH was told that Mason had an infection (I'm not really sure what kind) and was given some eyedrops that we have to give 2x a day. He freaked out the first time DH was giving them to him, but once he realized that it doesn't hurt, he was OK. I am the lucky one to give them tomorrow morning, lol!
 
Bree, I just saw this! :( So sorry Mason isn't feeling well, but glad he got to the Dr. and will be better soon! ((Hugs)) to him!
 
Oh and we were also told that it's not contagious, so he can go to school, but he looks yucky, lol. He's gonna stay home tomorrow and hopefully look a bit better.
