My little chatterbox...

I am amazed at my baby girl...I'm sure it's probably normal..but all I have to compare her to is her big brother who did not utter a word until he was 2 years old...he never really even chattered or babbled much and he NEVER mimicked us..to the point that at 18 mos we were referred to a speech eval and caused me months of needless worry. Then at 2 he started talking in sentences..go figure...

but Ella is such a little chatterbox at 15 mos...she is already saying/attempting to say about 10-15 words and can say "i wuv you" plain as day. This morning DH came out of the bedroom and she sat up from my lap and said "hey Daddy" which made DH stop in his tracks b/c she sounded so grown up. She's also singing...like tunes..she amazes me. Just had to brag a little :p

Awww, that's so fun!!

My first sentence (no joke) was, "Butterflies eat hippopotamuses for breakfast."

Adorable!

She sounds a lot like my little guy. He was talking by 15 months or so and by 18 months had a nice vocabulary. Now at 2.5 I can't get him to shut up. lol

It's so much fun watching them develop!

She is so flipping cute!! My son was the exact same way - never spoke etc. My grammy always said he'll speak when he has something to say. Then one day, he started chattering away and we haven't been able to shut him up since! LMAO

Awww...that is so cute. They do say that girls develop faster in that area than boys, do... my son didn't talk until last fall... he is 3 now, and still sees speech every other week. He is coming along, but tends to be pretty quiet to us, but very vocal to his stuffed lamb, Rupert.

Sounds like my 2 Nikki. Emma literally said about 4 words until she was about 26 mo. Then she exploded. lol Madelyn on the other hand is 23 mo. and has been talking for what seems like FOREVER lol

Aww, so cute! Lauren is 14 months and has a lot of words (20ish), but hasn't tried to combine them at all. It's such a contrast to Ben. He had apraxia, and at 24 months he'd already had a year of speech therapy (prior to the apraxia diagnosis) and had absolutely no words, not even many sounds. At 4, he's caught up and turned into a little chatterbox.

How sweet! She sounds a lot like Rylie. She was combining words at 15 months and talking in sentences just after. She still never shuts up, lol.

Will does not talk much. He's almost 2 and rarely puts more than 2 words together; although he speaks paragraphs in his own language that no one can understand. :)

Avalynne was always a babbler, but never really said words up until a couple months ago. Within the last few weeks her vocab has EXPLODED, she will repeat everything we say. It's so cute to hear her little baby words :). She just turned 26 months a few days ago.

its amazing isn't it? I'm always impressed with how well Aidan speaks at 3. his sisters weren't quite saying as much as him at his age. probaby cause he has them around and picks up a lot from him but its still so neat to be able to have a conversation with him.

oooh so cute! i cant wait til my lil man is old enough to talk! Hes just turned 8months and i *think* hes just started saying mum...kinda hard to tell if hes just babbling or if hes actually trying to call me....however he only does it when hes crying or cranky, but i still like hearing it anyway. :)

Aw, she sounds adorable. Sounds like my two (but in the reverse order). DD had a lot of words from 12 months, and was having conversations with me by the time her brother arrived (19 months). She's 3 now and never shuts up (it can be quite draining!!). DS is 20 mths now and has a few 'words' - by which, I mean that I know what he's saying, but no-one else does as it's too indistinguishable :D :p. It's amazing how different siblings can be.

That is SO adorable!!! I just love that! And how sweet that she said 'hey daddy', that just melts my heart! :)

I was just thinking about this the other day, because I have a 2.5 year old who, although he knows a lot of words and will combine them and is very smart (knows his numbers and letters, etc), still babbles a lot in his own little language (especially to his stuffed pig at 2am). He also has some speech problems, like soft 'r's and switching consanants (so, he'll say 'kare' instead of 'rake'). I was thinking about my 12 week old, and wondering if it would be the same with him, but I guess it really is true that every kid is different! The baby is already SO much more vocal than his brother was at his age, I'm afraid I might have a chatterbox on my hands! :)

This is so my older DD. She is 2.5 and always talking and going.

Ahh, that's fabulous! Its so exciting when they start talking. My Nicholas was like your Avery, hardly a word until he hit 2 then in sentences.

Averi's just starting to say a few words (she's 18 months). She just always laughed at us when we would try to get her to imitate. I'm hoping to see a language explosion soon!
