My friend needs PS help!

I have a friend who just asked me this question and I was wondering if anyone knew the answer:

have you ever had a problem opening anything in photoshop? once in a while i will get the message "could not complete your request b/c the file-format module cannot parse the file."

She also has a problem with some of her files being corrupted and have a "rainbowish" haze on them...

Oh, and she is using CS4.

The only time I've gotten that error was when something was wrong with the file, like it had corrupted during download or something like that. Don't know if that helps?

Okay, she thinks they got corrupted when she transferred them from her Mac... so that was probably the issue! Thanks!
