My first crop

Hi! My name is Amanda. I am 33 years old and I am a scrapbook crop virgin.

I got invited to my first scrap retreat/crop! I am not doing the overnight retreat part (other plans) but I am going to the crop all day Saturday. So help me prepare. Especially mentally.

This is a Close To My Heart crop. LOL! I will be the only digi gal there and I am sure I will have many funny looks thrown my way. I am the black sheep! Should I wear a tshirt with a skull and crossbones on it?

And the most important question- any recent stuff I absolutely need to buy before I leave Saturday morning?

I've never been to a crop but just wanted to say good luck and I'm so sure you'll RAWK their socks off, Amanda! :D

A Close to My Heart crop? As in the company, Close To My Heart? I love their products!!!! I would have a hard time holding on to my money!

Ummm, I don't really have any because I've never been to a crop before either! But I would say, something comfy to wear, some yummy snacks/drinks (with lids so you don't accidentally spill), your battery pack for your laptop...

CTMH is a great company...I was a consultant for them for about a year. :)

I guess if you're going as a digi gal, just make sure to take your laptop (lol), an extra battery pack...umm...wacom, EHD, printer? Give the actual hybrid a go. :) I'm sure they'll have make-and-takes for you do to there too...make sure to give them a try! Oh yeah, and don't forget your checkbook, lol! ;)

don't forget comfy clothes, cause you are just sittin' and chattin' and day. Oh and munchies to share!!! Chocolate always goes over well at these things. CTMH has a great catalog that is really really awesome for inspiration. SO snag a book if you can and you will get great ideas. Hybrid and scrappin'!! And most of all be ready to talk and have fun!!

Oh, have fun! I went to my first crop last fall and have already registered for another in August. I was the only digi gal at the crop last fall. I was welleceived - most people were very interested in digi-scrapping and I had several that peeked over my shoulder at varioius times through the weekend. :) Bringing them over to the dark side. LOL I second all the suggestions you've already gotten - comfy clothes, snacks, drinks, a cushion for your chair!!!!, laptop, tablet, extension cord or power strip just in case you're not right by an outlet, etc. I did a couple of the make it/take it projects so I took a few basic supplies with me. Adhesive & scissors mostly. Have a GREAT time!!!

Woot! They're lots of fun, I think.

I guarantee at least one woman will ask what you're doing and/or how you're doing it. That always happens to me. Be prepared to feel superior as you watch everyone else have to staple, cut, fold, tear, sprinkle with their crap spread out all around them... and you just have your lappy and a smile. ;)

Now I can do that. LOL! I will be the only one who can eat and scrap at the same time.

The crop is at a friend's house. Hopefully that means it will be more comfy. I can always stretch out on the floor. Her mom is a CTMH consultant. The make and takes are a wall hanging and 3 sets of double page layouts. So I don't think I will be interested in those.

Oh, and everyone will want to sit by you too because they'll be able to encroach on your space with all of their paper and goodies because you just need a tiny spot for your stuff. LOL I have one friend that always plops down at the table next to me when we scrap together because she knows she can use my extra room. And it's the best to sit there and watch them unload all of their stuff while you're opening your laptop and getting right to work.
