My External HD crashed today.

My second external HD crashed today... just all of the sudden stopped working with no warning signs whatsoever.

The good news is that I signed up for mozy.com backup a couple of weeks ago... the bad news is that I have so much stuff, only 1/3 of it has so far been backed up. So that leaves me with 2/3 of my stuff that on my burnt drive.

I just backed up everything about 8 weeks ago - but I've collected a lot of new stuff in the past 8 weeks.

I'm going to take the drive apart and connect the HD to my friend's PC (since I have a Mac) and see if I can get something off of it. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Fingers crossed hon!! I hope you can recover some of your stuff. I burn DVDs weekly because I am terrified one of my two EHDs will crash!!

Oh that is pants

Happened to me a while back and the very next day the technical men who keep our work laptops up to speed wiped everything of my computer :cursing:

Was I glad to have back up DVDs!

Good news!! I came in extra early to work this morning and hooked my External HD up internally to my work PC (ssssh!!) - and all of my files are there!!! I'm copying them over now!!! WOOOOOT! :thumbup:

Lesson learned: back up more often!!
