I've been using PSP for like ever right...I've had versions 8, 9 X and now X2...been using scripts the entire time and JUST TODAY realized how easy it is to make your own scripts!! Man I have been wasting so much time on routine stuff that I could have had scripts for the entire time...like resizing...so simple now.

LOL! Nikki, I used PSP from version 5 up to X---I only figured out scripts with version 9. You're not alone.

You're going to love 'em! I <3 writing my own actions for things like shadows and resizing. It saves so much time. (And given how slow a scrapper I am, I need all the speed boosters I can get!)

I do most of my shadows as styles now..I have a gazillion of them since I use diff shadows for like almost everything haha

how do you write a script? I have been using PSP for awhile too and know how to do alot but never even tried to write a script myself. Im sure there are alot of things that would be faster for me though if I knew how to write my own scripts. I use shortcuts ALOT and have alot of them memorized and that takes so much less time then using the menu constantly!!

Okay..here's the basic steps...this one is to resize a photo...but it's the same basic steps for any other script you'd want to write (this is for pspx2)

1. Open image to be resized

2. On the Scripts Toolbar click on the "start script recording" button (little blue circle)

3. Then go to Image>Resize and then fill in the settings you want.

4. Go back to the script toolbar and click the "save script recording" button (looks like a little floppy disc)

5. a box will pop up where you can name your script and that's it...it should be in your scripts dropdown box after that

Dude. I just realized I could totally write an action for teh basic shadowing stuff I do. :blink: So you're TOTALLY not alone, lol. I've used CS2 for 2 years AND created other actions before!

I have written several of my own scripts for PSP-especially for shadows...If I get one I really love I always write a script for it~

I love them too....I have one that copies my finished scrapbook page, resizes the copy to 600x600 then does a save and then it stops so I can give it a file name....it's awesome. and I have one that copies, pastes as new layer to another file, (just have to be careful you don't have a bunch of files open) then closes the original file. I like this one when I working with alphas.
