Any suggestions to make it feel better? I went too long today without pumping, Cooper was at daycare and we were Christmas and grocery shopping, so I think it was like 6 hours before I got a chance to pump and not I hurt so bad. I keep trying to get Cooper to eat off that side, I tried pumping, motrin, cold and hot compresses. I even took one of my pain pills for my wrist and it hurts for me to move. No fever or anything.

Ugh... poor thing. Try standing in a hot shower.. after a few minutes bend forward a little and massage the breast to try and get some of the milk out. It might be kind of uncomfortable to do, but if you can express some it will help. Also, try pumping after the hot shower. Hope it feels better soon!

Awww, I hope it feels better soon Vanessa! I have to say I cringed when I read this. I had a breast infection when my youngest was 3 weeks old and the pain was soooo bad so I am feeling for ya!

I don't have any advice for you since I didn't breast feed. I hope you are feeling better soon and that boobie stops hurting so darn much!

Ouch!!! It is so painful, I remember well. The hot shower will be your best bet...or even a bath if your tub is deep enough. Hope it feels better soon!

ouch! i remember that from when i breasfed Chloe. even worse, when i didnt breastfeed the other two and a few days after having them the milk comes in and your boobs swell up huge (lol) and hard as a rockand you had to just wait til the milk stopped. I HATED that. i was in tears at night trying to get comfy! warm showers are your best bet!

OK, this is going to sound really weird, but I swear it works. I've used it a couple of time with both of my babies. Get a cabbage. Yes, a cabbage! Break off one of the outer leaves, and cup it against your sore breast, directly on the skin. Use your bra to hold it in place for half an hour or so. The coolness of it (if it's been in the fridge) helps, as well as some enzyme in the leaf that relieves the pain. My midwife told me this, and they use it all the time in the maternity units here.

I know it sounds odd, but don't knock it till you try it
