Must the world stop for Tiger Woods?

I am so annoyed right now!

So we live a stones throw from the golf course at Dove Mountain where the PGA thing is going on. We get a flyer today telling us as RESIDENTS we should not use a certain entrance and exit on the freeway.

If most of you don't know...I live in the flippin country. There isnt a lot of entrances on the freeway. The next closest one is about 13 miles out of the way.

The reason...so our "out of town visitors" don't have any traffic to deal with.

What???

I may avoid it over the weekend when it's really busy...but not all together.

Rant over. Thank you.
 
Aw that's sucky. The lengths organizers go for tournaments is pretty astounding. But of course this tournament was a really big deal. Tiger was bumped out of the tournament yesterday so it's not all him though. ;)

I know, we watched it.

I also know it's a big deal...but it wasnt that bad last year, so I don't know why they are telling us not to use an entrance. It's about 1.5 miles from my house.
 
That's kinda silly IMO. You live there, not all the fans. Traffic will be a pain for both sets...but it's expected.
 
Aww, sweetie. I wasn't trying to minimize your annoyance. I'd be perturbed too. It's frustrating that those who live there are so inconvenienced. I was just trying to say, as irritating as it is for the locals, I wasn't really surprised to hear that the officials were going out of their way to accomodate the tournament. Sorry if it came off any other way.

Oh girl! I feel your pain. The Tour Championship used to be played every other year at the golf course at the end our street. We would have to have special parking passes to GET INTO OUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD! And, they would check our driver's licenses to make sure we didn't "borrow" one. Sheesh!

And, when we first moved into our house in August 2001, we had DSL from SWBell. We had it in our old apartment and transferred service to the new house. On October 1, we got a note from the phone company saying that they were dropping us from DSL because we were a "new" account and they didn't have enough lines. That was 6 WEEKS after we moved and had been using the service. I ranted to dh that it was probably because of the Golf Tournament. So, we called and yelled at the phone company and accused them of dropping us so they could free up lines for the reporters. Guess what? They re-instated our service within a couple days. Needless to say, we got off of DSL and moved to Cable as fast as we could after that!
 
ohhhhhhhhh, MY world would stop for Tiger Woods! He's smart, he's grounded, he's rich, and he's totally hot.
