Mother's Day - what are you hoping for?

Mother's Day is Sunday and I was curious what everyone has on their wishlists.

I already got my gift early (a new 50mm lens for my Sony Alpha) ,but I'm hoping that on Sunday my kids and husband will make me breakfast, plan something fun for the 4 of us to do without asking me what I want to do, and then my husband will smoke us something yummy in his smoker for dinner.

So what about you? What would totally make your day?

I need a perfect day..........quiet, no chores and hubby cooking dinner. :) If they REALLY want to spoil me, I would totally be okay with a kindle paperwhite. lol

I say all of this but it won't happen. Reality is that we will hang out together - it won't be quiet. I won't do chores other than the stuff that has to be done. And I am sure that I might get a meal paid for........not sure he will cook. Either way, I think I will be happy though. Just a day with my house of blue.

my sassy mouth six year old to turn back into my sweet little boy!!! :glare: that is all I want for Mother's Day... :(

I don't have too much I *want* other than a heartfelt card from DH & the kids, nice breakfast in bed and a day where DH takes the front seat with the kids & planning dinner, etc. :)

Nice!!

I want new pajamas because I stretched out the ones I have while wearing them when I was pregnant.

hahaha Yari!

ok, here I'm almost crying again thinking about what I'm hoping... receive the phone call from the adoption people saying me "she's here waiting for you". THAT would be my gift.

ok. let me shut up because I can't cry. I have to work. :crying:

OH RU! I remember those days! It seems like yesterday and it has been 7 years since we got the call for Landon. That would be an AMAZING mother's day. I am crying just thinking about it. :hugs:

to be pregnant. to have some hope for that day once more.

Otherwise, to spend the day with a lot of alcohol and movies and tv shows that have no pregnant people, children, parents, etc.

I hate mother's day. hate it. worst day of the entire year. also loathe and despise father's day. all they do is rub salt into the wound that yet another year has gone by and I still am childless.

:crying::hugs: Been there... I still can't do church on Mother's Day... I can't stand seeing all the babies and prego mamas...

I just want one day to relax. But that will not happen. Not with all our upcoming activities - I can't afford to have one day where I'm just sitting/laying around. So maybe a dinner out or DH will cook.

I'm a single mom, so there is noone helping my son get me a present. I'll just treat myself to some cake, and absolutely NO cleaning or washing dishes.

This. Which is why I will be staying home or riding the tractor with Colby. I should probably avoid Facebook too.

you can come visit me. I'll have lots of vodka. and cupcakes.

Totally would... but my sister and sister-in-law are both graduating this weekend from college. Gotta hang out with family then.

I will be giving my mom a PL style photo album of 2009-2011 so I'm kinda looking forward to that. :)

Awww...I'm so sorry. :(

I'm not hoping for much for Mother's Day this year. I think DH Is planning to go to church with me (he usually goes to chapel on post). A dinner out would be nice...other than that, I'm good.

I wish my hubby had the day off work :(

Same. In 14 years together. Rocky has never been home on Mother's Day (or Father's Day for that matter). Working in restaurants means he making sure all the other moms and dads have a nice day :(

Since it's just Cheyanne and I at home I don't really "do" mother's day anymore. We usually take that day to get our gardens started and we go shopping at the nurseries for flowers and vegetable plants. Sometimes we'll go to a movie or out to eat but that's it. DS and his family live far enough away that we usually don't get together for M. Day and he oftentimes will be working anyway. He knows enough to call me that morning though, or else! :D

I'd like hubby to go to the trouble to buy me a card...or take Rachel to get me one. We are going to the Redhawks (AAA baseball) game that night, not because I'm a huge fan, but because it's his yearly company family outing. I'm betting he's figuring that since he's 'taking' (ie driving) me to the game, he doesn't need to do anything else.

DH took the day off for me which I thought was really, really nice. He's another one that works a lot of holidays. I'm sure he'll cook me a nice dinner. I don't really want anything other than to have a day to be lazy, hang out with my honey and my girls.

Um, well behaved children..... Yeah, that won't happen. For the second year in a row DH is leaving that day (for work) so I don't have very high expectations.

I really want my Ninja blender and that's it... I'll cook, clean and deal with my lovies if I could just get that :)

I'd love to sleep in. I'd love my son to want to hold my hand again and hug me when he leaves. He's now embarassed by mom. :/

I'll just be happy if the entire day doesn't suck . . . like it did last year. :(

I actually have the day off work, but we have no plans yet. Considering going out for brunch somewhere and maybe the art museum or something. Kiddo's dad said he would take him shopping this week since Nick wants to get me a present. A group of friends and I do a Mother's Day gift exchange, too. That's nice for me being a single mom.
