moms of active toddlers

My son is 13 months old and is crazy active. Do yall have any fun art activities that I can with him that would involve no cutting? Thanks so much.

How about putting him in his high chair and letting him finger paint with pudding? It's safe...and if he sticks it in his mouth, it's no biggie. Just make sure you're on a tiled floor or that you have put newspaper or something underneath the chair LOL.

We also bought some of the markers that only write on special paper...I had my doubts, but they worked great, and Rachel was thrilled.

ohhh - watching this thread! haven't even thought of art! we're doing storytime at the library, MOPS (tho that's more for me), swimming and music, and if that doesn't get the wiggles out, my busy boy "helps" me clean...

I am loving the pudding painting. What a cute idea! Ok moms, I know that you are out there. What did you do with your little toddlers to keep them busy? I would love some learning ideas as well. Keep the ideas coming. Lord knows I need some help with this little one.

My daughter is OBSESSED with tupperware. If its not easily accessible consider moving it to a lower drawer. I just open it up and she goes to town, taking them out, putting them back in, taking the lids off and trying to put them back on. And now her latest favorite thing to do with them is have one in each hand and crawl/slide around our kitchen floor.(my daughter is 13 months as well, so I know what you mean). Instead of pudding you could use yogurt instead, though it might take a little away from the painting aspect of it. Still fun I'm sure though!
I think too we might do swimming lessons later in the fall. She LOVES the water.
I'm watching this thread closely though. I could definitely use some more ideas as winter approaches!

My guy would sit and play with a big tub of beans for an hour. I'd give him some measuring cups and a bucket, and he'd put the beans in the bucket, dump them back in the tub over and over.

Also, he's always loved playing in the bathtub, so I bought a cheap can of shaving cream for him to put on the walls of the shower, and he could draw stuff in it, wipe it away and start over. That kept him pretty well occupied, too.

My little guy loves bubbles. We have both the battery powered bubble blower and the little container that prevents the child from dumping out the bubbles. It's also fun to make bubble solution and put it in a larger container and let him make bubbles with a fly-swatter. All they have to do is wave it around in the air. He also likes to paint outside with water. All you need is a little container of water and a paintbrush. Then they can paint the sidewalk, or other things and there isn't anything to clean up. It just drys.
