Melissa Bennett & other Sweet Shoppe Designers

The mentality of this just drives me crazy. I remember last time it really hit the fan some of the excuses I heard quoted were pathetic. Apparently one woman was just absolutely convinced these "big name" designers make thousands of dollars on these kits, and she paid for them so she was going to do what she damn well liked with them. What was she hurting, since these designers had already made a bundle of money off us poor saps who pay? :rolleyes: It's sickening. They just really are convinced they're doing nothing wrong.

I'd like to see how they'd feel if they started a small business and some of their customers helped themselves to a bunch of their product and started handing it out for free. I'm pretty sure the excuse "oh, we figured you make enough money as it is" wouldn't sit too well with them.

I am usually checking forums at DST, but because of this 2 day conference, I missed it. I'm sure Shannon yanked it if it was a rant. I don't know what it said, but I LOVE Melissa's stuff and all of the SSD's stuff- don't let some crazy person make you upset! HUGS!!
 
I'm coming in late, and didn't get to see the rant - but I got the gist of what it said from your all's comments.

I really don't get why people do this.
 
I missed the link too, but I'm assuming it was about piracy, which just sickens me. I had hoped this would be over with for a while after the mess earlier this year, but apparently people aren't getting the message. Ugh. Sorry to whomever was affected.
 
I don't think it really was a rant. She was just angry that this was going on and made a list of designers that she knew were being pirated. It sounded like she didn't know of a lot of the people on the list and therefore didn't know how or where to PM them the information instead. She didn't list the Yahoo group in the post that I saw.

This just makes me absolutely sick that people do things like this!!! :cursing::cursing::cursing:
 
If it was removed it was probably about piracy as Shannon mentioned they were not going to allow piracy posts anymore. Such a bummer because the designers really should know about it and be able to put a stop to it if they can.
 
That is one of the things that stinks about the digital age. You really can't control who does what with your files. Someone needs to come up with something to add to these files, so they can't be redistributed, but I have no idea how that could be done.

Sadly, there really isn't much that can be done about it either, because it's hard to catch the people doing it.

This isn't the only community this happens to either. People copy music, movies, etc. and manage to get away with it. It really stinks!!!!
