Aren't they cute? The chinchillas joined the dog and cat (and we also adopted a pair of gerbils). I wasn't terribly fond of the idea of getting them, but they've grown on me in just a day. My hubby really wanted them, and he puts up with my dog so I couldn't say no.

They are cute. I thought about getting one once, but they were a little "jumpy" for me. Do you need a big cage or can they just run around the house with the dog and cat? I still kinda want a hedgehog.

They stay in a cage (big cage) most of the day, but have to come out to run around for about an hour a day.

A hedgehog? I've never heard of those as pets. Sounds like fun!

I don't know how fun they would be as they sleep most of the time, but they are so darn cute. We used to have hamsters and they were really sweet, but their life span is too short and it broke my heart when they would die. I'm not getting any more pets, as my house is full; three little yappy dogs and 2 cats.

Funny story. On of the cats is a stray my son took in about 4 years ago; a big ol gray one with an extra toe on all his feet. This cat is really sweet, but he eats like a horse. Friday, when I was getting ready for work he wanted to go out so I put him out the back door. When I was ready to leave, I opened up the front door and there he was, with two friends who belong the the Amish farm next door. They are barn cats, but would become house cats real fast if they got the chance. I was like "Oh No, Buddy, one is enough." I shooed them away and he looked at me like I had ruined his plans for a great party. No Super Bowl for him. :)

omg...my DD adopted her boyfriend's chinchilias and I LOVE them mor ethan our new dog LOL!

Awww...how adorable! My MIL has a chinchilla, and it is the softest little thing. Enjoy your new furbaby! :)

That is the cutest story! I can just picture him being all disappointed! :p
