I have a delima - I LOVE to go to the movies - I think Jay and I go see every new release that we can, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my guy Mark Wahlberg - Him and Matt Damon are the only 2 men I would leave my husband for... What can I say I have a thing for short Irish guys... I see EVERY movie he does on opening day. Anyway I also read like crazy and have read Lovey Bones and HATED it!!! I Balled like a baby and it was the WORST kind of book to read. NOT for Mom's of teen girls to read and had the WORST ending. All about a little girl killed by a serial killer and her "watching" over her family grieve. So he plays the dad in the movie - So ladies .... what do you think - do I go see it?

I would say wait and rent it. That way you can stop it or fast forward if you want to.

I'm in a similar but different situation. I was actually lucky enough to watch some of the filming so part of me would like to see it. But it is definitely not the type of movie I would see. And after hearing more about the topic I know I don't want to see it. Hmmm.

I saw the preveiw and it looked ok. Kinda reminded me of Stir of Echoes with Kevin Bacon. At least from the preveiws it did.

I am going to see it. I read the books too... cried like a baby but really enjoy the book. I was able to get free passes to an early showing near me so me and my friend who got me to read the book are going to go see it.

I loved the book...and will probably see the movie (although they rarely ever live up to the book). If you didn't like the book, I don't know why you'd want to see the movie. Just MO, but I see a movie because of the plot and not because of who is in it.

I have a similar dilemna with this movie. A lot of the school shots (and some corn field ones) were shot in my town and for that reason I would love to see it... but the storyline completely freaks me out... totally not my kind of movie!

I thought the book was very good but there is no way I am seeing that movie, the storyline is too disturbing to me. I saw a trailer for it and was freaked out by that alone.

I'll definitely be waiting for this to come to DVD. The book was really sad and I'm betting the movie will be sad too. I'd rather cry at home than in a movie theater. I was actually kind of glad to be done reading the book, it was well written and very intriguing but really depressing at the same time.

I totally understand wanting to see a movie for the actors though. I've been a lifelong fan of Kiefer Sutherland and see all of his movies as soon as I can see them. He has done a few that weren't really that appealing to me but I've been surprised and enjoyed them anyway :)!

i read the book too and actually loved it (but I've got a thing about serial killers - weird, i know)....from what I've read about the movie, they don't focus on that part of the story that much at all...I too love Mark W. and it looks like he did a great job in this role - the whole thing looks terrific actually. I'd go see it - you never know...

I'm another that really love-hated the book and can't IMAGINE it really making a movie ...

I'll probabl rent it though, lol
