Good episode...one that we needed to move the story along. I LOVED that scene with Sawyer and Jack! Lovin the new Sawyer!!

I had a feeling that the plane crash victims weren't in 1977 like the rest...Ben was looking too devastated like he knew what had happened.

WHY isn't Sun with the rest??! Was she not supposed to come back to the island?

Hurley is so funny.

I hope Sawyer doesn't react stupidly and leave Juliet for Kate.

I'm not positive but I think I saw someone standing in the shadows behind Sun in the scene with Christian..I'm going to rewatch it and search online to see if I did...Looked like a woman..maybe Claire?

Oh..and Sun whacking Ben on the head???

Maybe Sun wasn't allowed to go back because she's changed for the worse? I'm not sure. I think the others really believed that they could go back, maybe Sun didn't. I'm not sure.

LOVED the episode though!!!
 
Well, the thing with Sun is that she's the ONLY one that John himself didn't visit and try to convince to come back..I thought that was weird in his episode and I'm pretty sure it must be significant...you know, John is "the chosen one" on the island and since he didn't influence her, the island doesn't accept her coming back...same as Ben...he wasn't supposed to turn the wheel, John was, he's not supposed to be back so the island didn't bring him back. Maybe?
 
We were thinking maybe because they weren't on the island when it happened, they were on the boat. But I guess that doesn't work either.
 
Speaking of John, where was he in this episode? Where does he fit in to all of this? You'd think if he was the chosen one he wouldn't be someplace he wasn't supposed to be. So maybe those in 1977 aren't where they should be? Or maybe all of those who aren't in 1977 are dead? Christian is dead, yes? I'm thinking Claire is too and that may have been her in that scene. And maybe Ben is "dead" because Sayid may end up killing him as a kid? And well, John *was* dead. But then that seems odd to have them all be dead.

It's all so confusing. And fabulous.

Was a FAB episode! I love when Sun whacked Ben over the head! Fabulous

I have to rewatch..that screencap of the girl in the bg is interesting.

Ben had creepy eyes as a kid too!
 
Yep, I'm kind of confused by Sun not being with the rest of them.....now Ben on the other hand, makes sense---I think he's always tried to run things, but I don't think the island wants him! That's why he doesn't heal like Locke does, and why he doesn't hear the voice in the cabin (forgot the name) and maybe we think Christian is dead, but maybe the island healed him, just like it healed Locke now that he's back. I don't know, hurts my head to think about it, but yes , it's really interesting!

Oh I know! And how ironic is that? I mean Ethan was the one who helped influence Juliet in coming to the island in the first place remember? and now she's the one who saved his life when he was born! Crazy.

Oh and I can't wait to find out about Faraday..and why he's not there anymore.

I just want Jin and Sun to be together...that scene when she thought he died in the season finale last year was sooo sad. They need to be back together.

And finally we get the answer to whether or not Ben is already on the island..now we just don't know if it is before or after the time he met Richard in the jungle. I'm thinking it's after b/c that kid seemed to know something. And is he a Harry Potter look-a-like or not? lol
 
Oh! and the guy Radzinsky who was working in the Flame station when Jin came in...I kept thinking I should know that name and then realized that Radzinsky is the man who was in the hatch with Kelvin before Desmond came to the island..remember? he blew his brains out after starting that map on the back of the hatch door?

and I loved the muppet show playing on one of the tv screens...too cool lol
 
Ooh I know it Nikki. When Jin said his name, and before we saw him, I thought that was who we may see (even though that wouldn't have really made sense). It's weird they have the same name. Related? "Given" the same name? Should be interesting.
 
Oh and anyone else get the sense that it's Richard who really calls all the shots while acting like he's "following" the others? Seems to give a lot of ideas to everyone about what they should do.

I think it IS Radzinsky... which that combined with Ethan's birth tells us that not all of Dharma were killed in the purge...so there's a whole other question kwim?

I think I'm too involved with this show lol
 
Oh and I totally think Richard is calling all the shots...I think we'll find out eventually that Richard goes back to the original island inhabitants...the temple/statue group. Remember Juliet saying "Richard's always been here."
 
Nikki I think you are too into this show...but I love it because you totally see things I don't see. I just had to go back and actually watch that again with the chick behind Sun. I think it's Claire.

This was a great episode, but I'm so confused about why everyone didn't make it to 1977.
 
I thought it was a great episode. I totally knew Sun was going to konk Ben on the head once he started rambling on about where the dock was on the other island and how to get to blah, blah, blah, KONK! I was cracking up.

And Jack seemed awfully tense and uneasy when he found out Juliet and Sawyer were living together. Was that because he still had some left over odd feelings for Juliet or because he knows in his heart that Kate came back for Sawyer and is going to be devestated.

I must be dense because I totally didn't catch (until last night) that the other plane survivors weren't in 1977. I do miss bits and pieces of the episodes because I'm trying to get kids to bed and stuff. I was watching last night and had an "ah-ha" moment when I remembered the scene where Locke confronts the one guy in the Dharma hatch and it was old and unused. Can't believe I missed that before last night.

And thank you for reminding me where I heard the name Radzinsky before. That was driving me nuts.
 
When in this show am I not confused!! Seriously they answer one thing and bring three more things up! Good writing! Seriously still debatable if they knew where this was all headed or just made it up as they go! But it all ties together so well that maybe they really did have a plan! This is the one (ok one of 2, 24 counts as well but we only watch that on DVD) that I just cannot easily scrap and watch. Its like you are playing the game Clue constantly with this show!

What is in Hurleys guitar case? Beer? Guitar from Charlie? Did I miss that too?

When LOST is on I don't do anything but watch it. People know not to call me when I'm watching it lol.

We don't know the story of the guitar case yet. I have a feeling it has something to do with Charlie. When he took it on the plane I assumed it was to recreate the original crash as closely as possible and since he's still lugging it around with him it must have some significance. I'm sure we'll get a Hurley-centric episode soon that will explain it.

I really think that the writers had a general idea of where this show would end up. I've watched and read way too many interviews with the writers/producers where they insist on a "general idea" to the story when the show began in 2004. I'm sure it has evolved and changed with new ideas thrown in and actors coming and going, but the overall story has been the same. The show is just too well written...yes we get lots of questions and stuff, but it's not just all over the place like Heroes..definately making it up as they go on that show and you see what is happening to it. We saw a little bit of that in Season 3 (with the horrible Nikki/Paulo storyline) but once they set an end date and cleaned up that mess (in one episode lol) the show got it's steam back and we've had nothing but fabulous episodes since.

And if Michael Emerson doesn't get nominated for an Emmy this year then something is just plain wrong. He is fabulous in his role as Ben.
