Long Term Projects: 2026

What's on the agenda for you this year?

Weekly spreads? Monthly spreads? Catching up on previous years? Vacation albums?

I'm so curious to see what everyone is working on this year.

I am not even going to attempt weekly spreads this year - it's just a recipe for disaster. BUT I think I can commit to a monthly double pager.

I'm also working on finishing up several old projects - I got the idea for kind of a smash book layout where I document my moods throughout 2025. I'm up to May, I think. It's a lot of fun... not sure if it's something I'll do every year though.

I also still have a few pages left on my 2025 gratitude journal - I have all the photos and journaling, just have to block out time to finish it.

I'm thinking about going back and doing monthlies for 2025. I did some of the groundwork, but I didn't get very far - not sure if it'll be a priority on top of everything else. We'll see!

Chances of finishing all projects: aprox. 10% :D

I need to finish 2 vacations from 2025. Only one more day to do for one of them but I have over 100 photos that day! The other vacation should be somewhere between 20 to 25 layouts.

Then I need to finish DYD for both 2024 and 2025 and my October Daily for 2025. That would be 93 daily layouts and 2 title layouts (have the DYD 2024 title done).

I'm also going on 3 trips in 2026 that will need to be scrapped.

I'm trying to scrap at least every other day and doing double layouts when I do. So far this month I've got 11 layouts done. Ideally I would like to have the vacations, both DYD's and the October Daily all done before my first trip June 14th.

Fingers crossed since I'm also working on cross stitch quite a bit and have 2 projects that will need to be done after my vacations. I'm doing a cross stitch for every state I've visited and I will add 2 new states in September. The big cross stitch for the year is a year long temperature chart.

Im continueing with PL 2026, but also with our Disney/Paris albums of my eldest daughter and i. I almost finished the christmas trip album for my youngest daughter, the weekend trip to a christmas village with her last year

I love hearing about all of these. Wendy I can’t wait to see the Disney/Paris trip so done. I love hope you used the building blocks in the ladies and it’s got me thinking. I feel like I will finally decide on how to do 2026 by Sunday. There’s a 60% chance I’ll get that done :)

I will continue weekly PL spreads keeping them simple and hoping to stay current monthly. Does that make sense?

I am working on getting PL 25 done as well as other unfinished projects. I have a very long list of projects I would like to work on.

For some stupid reason, I decided to do weekly layouts for 2024, so I will never be finished but will continually be working on this for the rest of my life.

I'm still working on 2025. I used Page Maps sketches, thinking it would simplify the process without so much embellishing, but I still have decision paralysis getting started.

HOWEVER, I shall make a 2026 album for this is a significant year for us. I think that I will just make monthly spreads but make a "Currently" album for me because I really love scrapping about me now that these teenagers hate pictures and nice clothes and smiling.

I need to finish my December album. I usually am compulsive about staying on top of things but I'm just waiting until I feel ready to work on it again.

I was considering a weekly Project Life but ultimately I'm just not going to do it. It makes me feel sad about my life and that's not at all what I'm going for. Maybe I'll do a Day in the Life again. And a week of homeschool once we're back in a more traditional-looking homeschooling routine.

If we can make life work, we're going to take my mom on a birthday trip in June. The ideal plan is 1 zoo, 2 aquariums, 1 science museum, 1 dolphin boat ride, and 1 theme park. That's what, 100 pages? Totally enough to keep me busy for the second half of the year.

I am almost done with 2023, so I have 2024 and 25 to catch up on and I started a p365 for photos only. I have one of the cute lil mini printers so I got an album for that size that will hold the entire year. So far I am really loving it and trying to just have fun taking pics again. Somehow the past few years I have been taking way less so I wanted to make that fun again

Lauded, all of this. Brenda I hear you, it’s got to be life giving to scrapbook as it takes so much time. Only scrap the things that make you happy, or bring you peace even if they are sad. I so badly want to keep up in the month we are in.

Oh, I wish that I was a finisher BUT there have been times in the past couple of years that I'm glad I'm NOT a finisher. You see, going back to older times and revisiting great memories has been a huge part of emotional healing for me. So I'll keep LOVING watching y'all complete all these albums from the sidelines, where my chaos reigns. LOL

I'm not even finished with 2022... and 23, 24, and 25 photos just sit waiting patiently for some attention. I'm kind of thinking about skipping ahead and just working with new stuff and not even worrying with an album for those years. I kind of think that for 2026, I'm just going to scrap what I feel like, when I feel it, instead of pushing myself to scrap in a specific way.. what I mean is I usually do weekly stuff, outlining everything, like PL sorta, and it gets kind of boring and mundane... the every day, I mean. So i think just doing what calls out to me, the events or photos or whatever that are actually meaningful instead of focusing on like what we ate for dinner on tuesday etc.

I'm kind of chaotic too, Cheryl, LOL!

I am not doing PL this year so my only long-term UFO is my wedding album. I did a photo album already but this album is less about the photos & more about the stories. It's about halfway done, I think.

I am (unless my dad's health takes another turn!) going on a two-week ancestral tour through France with my mom this summer and will have that vacation album to work on during the second half of 2026. I've already started collecting kits & photo/page ideas. 🗼🇫🇷

That sounds wonderful. I hope that the tour is so life giving and fills you up. I also think working on the wedding album will feel wonderful working on all of the joyful memories. So fun to look forward to such a cool adventure and project. I can't wait to see pages.
