Has anyone here had any experience with long distance baby showers? My soon to be SIL is having twins in July/August. She lives in Australia, and my sisters and I live in New Zealand.
We were thinking we would still like to hold a baby shower for her, but weren't quite sure how to go about it. One of my BIL's flies over to Australia for work each month, so he can take over any packages we want to send. I have a really nice baby diaper bag that I'm going to give her, and we thought we'd fill it with baby shower items for her. Maybe pre-wrap and number them. Then we'd arrange to hook up on Skype so we can see her open the presents. We do have one other SIL in Australia that lives near her, and she will obviously be there on the day too.
My question is, what else can we do while we're on Skype (video calling) to make it fun for her? It's not like we'll physically be there to play the normal kind of games. We really want to let her know how much we love her and for her to feel part of the family, however far apart we live.
Your ideas and suggestions would really be appreciated.
