Lizzy,

I just went to Whole Foods but it was closed because of the tornadoes I knew nothing about. When I got home I saw the damage in Windsor and thought of you. Are you and your family safe?

Kristi

Liz is OK. We were actually together when the tornadoes hit. We were at a chick-fil-a restaurant about four miles from Windsor where Liz lives and things got a bit hairy for a while, but we were ok where we were. As for Windsor, the town Liz lives in (neighboring my town of Loveland) it is a mess. Pretty much demolished. And the crazy thing is that we NEVER get tornadoes in this part of Colorado. Ever. So it took everyone totally by surprise. So far, there is one confirmed death but they are still finding survivors. Its a miracle more aren't dead so far.
So, we're all ok. Scared and very sad for the community of Windsor, but we're ok.
Here is a link if you want to read more about what happened.... www.9news.com

ETA: Liz's home and her family's homes are all just fine. Not even any wind or hail damage. Luckily, she lives in SW Windsor and the tornadoes struck in SE Windsor.

I think they started around noon mountain time and there were still warnings for Windsor at 4:15. That area got hit hard but so far there is only one reported death. My kids were on lock down at the school across the street, here in Fort Collins, but there is no siren system here so I had no idea until I got to Whole Foods at 1:30 and it was closed. I feel like such an idiot and lucky that the tornadoes didn't come near here. I would have been totally unprepared.

Well, Lizzy, I am thinking about you and hope you are safe. Jenny where are you in Loveland? I'm assuming it missed you too.

Wow, that is crazy! Glad you guys are okay! Talk about too close for comfort, though, and those poor people that it did hit... yikes!

Yikes Jenny! I am so glad you and Liz are safe. This is a crazy, sad day.

My 8 year old is so scared so we are in the basement playing for now.

WOW, I am so out of touch...had NO idea until I turned my computer back on a few minutes ago this even happened...I am glad everyone is OK though!!!!

Oh wow so glad you two are safe! That was so close!! We have some tornado watches/warnings going on in some of the counties neighboring our area right now so we are keeping an eye on the weather ourselves right now!

We went out for lunch today and I saw the day care come across the news and my heart dropped for you both, I'm so gald to come here and read this!
Huge hugs!

Glad you're okay, hope lizzy checks in soon!

I'm sure she will sometimes today. They were all without power for most of the day yesterday and I think the power came back in the early evening, but it might have gone out again. She's also busy getting ready for her son's b-day party tomorrow. But I assure you all that she's fine.

hey friends!! thank you so much for your thoughfulness! i am so sad that my little town is devastated! luckily there has only been one reported death and then mostly minor injuries. (not to say that one death is lucky by any means...you know what i mean?) i just keep praying that no one else gets hurt in the process of clean up ( i feel so sorry for the gas company service guys) ...sometimes that part can be just as scary! we don't even have tornado sirens in windsor...that is how weird this whole thing is! this just DOESN'T happen. i grew up in missouri and it's no surprise there, you expect it ya know? but here...really strange! all i know for know is that jesus has his hand on all of us and all the victims and i am just grateful that i have a roof over my families head!!

thank you again ladies...it really means a lot. (heartfelt smile)
