I was watching my girlfriend get ready to go shopping this morning after my interview, and she used the liquid eyeliner, and it looked great. I have never used the stuff, and am a little scared. Do any of you guys use it, or have any pointers about it??

I alternate.. liquid.. hard pencil (don't like those lol) and the soft mushy pencil ones whatevre they're called.

Liquid takes some practice, and unless you're going for the bold lines, def some smudging :D :D I love it though :)

I've always struggled with liquid, because you can't mess up without it being obvious. I like the smudged look now, so I use a larger pencil if anything.

had never done liquid until this past weekend getting ready to go out to cabaret night - my neighbor did my make-up, and she used a liquid liner. felt weird, but looked really, really good!! Of course, silly me took no pics of us all dressed up, partyin' it up.

Okay, as a former... ahem "dancer"...
this looks best as a night look, but if you want to get good practice, go to Sephora or MAC and ask for a "cake liner", it comes in a little pot and you buy a teeny brush for it, they'll show you which one. Just get the brush slightly wet, dab it on pot of eyeliner cake and it's much easier than using the liquid that comes in the drug stores. Trust me on this, I used it everyday for years. It's not expensive and looks stunning even after just a few practices.

It's so cute, Constance, you're getting so girlie.

1st Smokey Eyes looks better if you use a rounded brush

2. For everyday I use soft pencil, but for some dramatic efect liquid do the job great

3. Liquid eyelines takes practice and usually less is more (if you carry away too much you may end like Nefertiti).

4. You can achieve a simmilar efect using a biased brush, some water and a dark eye shadow. Moist the brush, go to the eye shadoy and use it as an eyeliner.

5. If you have a fair skin, please don't use black or you may end lookin like a goth girl. 99% of the times fark brown looks way better

Oh, cool, thanks for the tips and vid!! lol, I've so gotta get some makeup to try that, I've always wanted to see what it'd look like on me!

I've used liquid. I usually use the MAC cream liner with a brush and apply that.

The liquid is just scary when I get too close to my eye then it looks like it dyes your eye...for a split second. It doesn't hurt and you can get it out (I have contacts so touching my eyes doesn't freak me out).

If you put liquid on and it's not perfect you can put make up remover on a q-tip and use it as an eraser. In fact, I do that whener I apply my creme liner and brush.

I've never used eyeliner, but Lizzy, puleeeeeeeease teach me how to do a smokey eye!!! lol.

oh my word! so easy...i just use a softer pencil and get really close to my last line on top and extend my liner just past the outside of my eye...i mean a smidge. then i use a smudgy tool see here to get it all smudged and smokey looking. looks really nice. i also put a dap of liner all the way on the inside of my bottom last just inside the eye to define. if you have smaller eyes go for a teensy actually on the skin not on the inside or none at all on the bottom. then maybe (if your feeling adventurous) a little grey or black smudged on eyeshadow just on the lower part of your lid...blend. finally apply mascara. sorry my description isn't proper i am in no way a makeup artist just love the smokey eye.

I could never figure out how to get it on with a nice thin line and not have it look like a took a big fat marker to my eye. So I'll stick with the soft pencil.
