Linking scraplifts to LOs from other galleries?

That's allowed here right? I think I've done it before and never had a problem. Wait, of course it's allowed... we do it with P2D and often SAL and Treat of the Month. Okay answered my own question.

So, am I justified in thinking it's a little silly for a site to NOT allow you to do that? I understand not linking to products at other stores, but a layout? Really? Just wondering! I got a pm at another site to change my credits.

I dont think that would be a problem because it is pretty much normal to give credit when lifting another layout right? Ive always done it in the past and never had a problem

It is a bit silly, but if they have a firm 'no outside links' policy, I guess it makes sense.

wow, all the galleries i've posted to that have the 'no outside links' rule still allow links to scraplifts. now i'm wondering what site you're talking about so i don't break a rule without knowing it.

wow really? I would think they would want you to give credit for the layout. Id understand not crediting the actual kits but not to give credit for a scraplift seems kinda silly

I think they did it b/c people were being sneaky and putting outside store links, etc very creatively.

I agree though I hate the no linking at all rule..seems like more hassle than it's worth to police

I usually credit lifts from other places by saying lifted or inspired by "Artist's name, layout name (@ gallery)" I understand no outside linking, and think that's enough info that you could search the listed gallery.

Yeah, it's not a huge deal, I was just surprised. And I guess if there is a link to the layout, it probably has links to other products.

And Steph, that's basically what I changed it too--although I would never search for a layout like that! If I can't just click to see it, I usually don't care enough!

This is what I do too. I agree that sometimes the linking thing is going to the extreme! Ah well...

I post at a gallery that has the NO LINKING rule and I'm assuming they mean lifts too, however I still link the lift. If I ever get reprimanded I'll stop posting there!!! :thumbdown:
