lift a LO?

Can someone please explain the concept of "lifting" a LO from someone's gallery? You copy their layout? Is there a way to change the layout to a "cookie" so that your elements, papers, etc.. are in the exact position that the person's orginal layout are in?! *confused*

bascially "lifting" a LO is copying their LO and just making it your own...you do the whole LO however you like but using theirs as inspiration...if it is a Spin A Lift you basically TURN the LO one way or the other and use it for inspiration...
I spun this LO...

You could create your own template from a layout, but other than that, there is no way to create a "cookie" without having the layered file from a page you see in a gallery.

I also would like to add that it's "proper" to credit lifts in your gallery. If you load a "lift", credit the original desinger (I even include a link to iot if it's allowed in that gallery). I don't think many people actually credit their lifts (but to me that feels like cheating so I always do!)

One thing that makes it easier is to open up your bg paper or start a new layout, however you like to get started, and drag the layout you are lifting onto your new layout. (You can just have the layout open on your browser and drag it into your photo editing program) Then you make it big, and that makes it easier to lift.

 That's how I do it if I don't have a template already!
