Libby are you ok?

I know you are in Arkansas but I'm not sure which part. We've had (I'm guessing) about 6 tornadoes here tonight in SW Missouri and 1 confirmed dead. HUGS and prayers for those of you in the midwest.:(

Well I dont know, this is supposed to go on for another 8 hours. We are about to go back under the house for the 3rd time tonight.

Awww thanks for being concerned! I'm in the NW corner of the state (well, almost the NW Corner - Van Buren to be exact). We're right in the path, but so far nothing major. It's been dark and windy all evening, and the local channels are showing nothing but tornado warnings and meterologists giving their opinions.

I hope YOU stay safe and this passes quickly!!!

hope you stay safe mandy :( we had a tornado touch down bout an hour or two from here. it took out our apple orchard (that had been around forever) but no one really hurt that i heard (oh i'm bout 30 minuets outside chicago)

Oh goodness Mandy! Please stay safe girl!!

And Libby, I hope they don't get any more near you!!

Well we are still in a tornado warning but the sirens haven't gone off yet so I'm crossing my fingers. We've had hail a bit ago. I'm just tired and have a massive headache and wish I could go to bed, but I know I wont til this stuff dies down a bit.

Well, we had a calm night last night, but this morning, there are some serious storms out there. Mandy, how are you guys this morning?

Penny! I grew up in Springdale, and then lived in Bentonville from 1995 until 2004 when I moved to VB. Now, we've got our house on the market and are trying to move back to Bentonville (that's where DH works, so he's driving every day). If you haven't been to that area lately, you'd be blown away at how much it has changed! Small world!!

You can't even tell when you leave S'dale and are in Bentonville. Its crazy up there with all the building. Just up there in October for War Eagle and it didn't even look the same. But it is a beautiful area.

Thanks girls. We are ok and safe this morning. We had another bad round of storms at 3am that did some damage 1 town over from us. We were up with that storm because it was shaking the house and we started to get a bit nervous with that. We have limbs down and our yard and crawl space is flooded badly but we are ok.

Wow! So glad our Sweet girls are all ok!

It is crazy how much weird weather there's been this year! Makes me want to crawl in a hole for a while! hehe

Well, what do you know; I lived in Bella Vista from 1997-2000! Perhaps we walked by each other at Wally World! :p My husband still returns to NWA a few times a year (his company has an office there) and he has told me how the area has exploded. We almost moved back last spring when DH received a job offer from WM. I hope your move goes smoothly. That is one long commute!

Hope all is better today for all ya all. (notice how I threw in some Southern :D )

Libby, how did I not know you were in Arkansas? My first husband was from Marshall and we spent many vacations there in the Ozarks.

Woo...glad you are ok too! We've had 2 confirmed deaths now. Both people were in trailers at the time. An older man and woman.
I just went to Springfield (for those of you that know the area) and while most of the damage was a few miles further north, I saw a lot of roofs torn off of businesses and there was lots of insulation, debris and limbs down. Also saw a trampoline smashed up against a fence all twisted and stuff.
I surely have missed Missouri since we've joined the military and moved away but being back reminds me why I'd rather be somewhere else. You'd think growing up with this stuff would have me used to it but I get teary-eyed and shaky every time it happens.
I think it would be better had it just been me here but having to worry about saving the lives of my three children were something to happen is just terrifying.

I totally feel ya Mandy..same here....I don't think you ever get used to it.....I too, think my fear escalated even more after having children!

Whew! Gosh, so glad everyone is ok. We had MASSIVE wind and lightning, but no damage here. It seems to have passed for now.

Julie, that is wild... Marshall is like this little hole in the wall that no one has ever heard of... except my mom was born there! LOL! What a small world!

Penny, that is CRAZY! Well, if you ever decide to travel back to NWA with your dh, let me know so we can hook up! :)

LOL.... Canada does get some tornadoes, but they aren't as common as in the states. Jamie lives in Newfoundland I believe (in the Maritimes, northwest of Maine), and tornadoes don't happen there. Very insane hurricane weather, yes, tornados... not so much. I live in Saskatchewan (above Montana & North Dakota), and we DO get tornados, but usually just warnings, and its mostly been in the last few years. Before then it was rare to have tornado warnings.... Go figure!
