Lets talk cupcakes!

Chloe has been on a cupcake kick for a few days. So next week when we get payed i'm going to make some. But i didn't want any ordinary cupcake. So i've been searching. And i found a blog (that is no longer updated, but has a list of yummy recipes!) with a Cherry-Vanilla cupcake recipe. they have a cherry filling.:blink: yummy. and i found a cream cheese icing recipe that i'll use for the topping. I figured i play around with this, and if they turn out okay (i.e. edible, lol) i'm going to make these instead of a cake for Emma's birthday in October. I suck at decorating cakes, so i figured i could handle some cupcakes better, lol. I'm so excited! I love to bake, but don't do it often; i don't know why. Maybe if i baked more often, i could justify asking for one of those totally neat KitchenAide stand mixers! But as of now, i don't use a mixer enough to pay $200 for one :p .

There are so many other cupcakes on there that sound really good, but i'm almost scared to try. this cherry vanilla one seems easy enough, lol.
 
Cupcakes are cool! I was on cupcake kick awhile back. I was looking for a good vanilla cupcake recipe but never found the perfect one. (ok I only tried 2 recipes LOL).

You could always group the cupcakes together like they did here

I'm definitely going to do that for my daughter's next bday cause I was eating her leftover cake for DAYS!

ohhh red velvet is my fave cake though

years ago I made a peanut butter cupcake with peanut butter buttercream frosting. It was sooo good!! I didnt write down how I made it though just kinda experimenting and could not replicate it again:-(
 
I love cupcakes! They're just the right amount of yumminess! :)

We did cupcakes for my dd's birthday a few years ago and I borrowed one of the cupcake stands from my friend so they were tiered like a cake. It turned out really cute! :thumbup:
 
Okay... I have been craving cupcakes for over a month. Actually it was Mimi's fault when she went on a cupcake binge a while ago. Now I'm hanging out at Cake Central (eek), and NOW I find Bakerella... Then I wonder why I can't get motivated to lose weight.

I don't want to eat clean! I WANT A CUPCAKE, lol!!
 
thank you for that Bakerella link! thats an awesome site too! I LOVE those little cupcake pops! the kids would adore those. I might make some of those too!
 
Dang.. I should have stayed away from this thread. Cupcakes are so good and versatile. I just bookmarked those blogs. Oh so dangerous, for the waistline that is. :D
