My kids are finally getting out of school tomorrow for summer thanks to all the snow days, I need to work on our list.

We did the drive in on Saturday, big hit, and i have a few ideas, but I want to keep it low key, maybe an activity or two each week and few little trips thrown in.

LOL - I won't be much help: Ours in a nutshell is work for me and physical training, summer softball, and summer basketball for Cheyanne until August 1st. Then she has 3 weeks before fall sports start (a couple weeks before school actually starts after Labor Day). We are taking a weekend camping trip with friends at the very end of July and that's about it :D

I'm no help either because I work. I do have Fridays off in the summer so I'm going to try to squeeze in some activities with the kids.

Zoo
Movies
Train ride to the dairy for some ice cream (about a 1/2 hour train ride)
water park
Picnic at the park

I have a long list of things I want to do with my little guy...I work so I'm not sure how many will get done but I figure if we get half of them done I'll be happy. We did go the SF Giants game last week so that's one off the list.

I don't really know. My kids are each signed up for a few morning camp programs, so I don't feel as much pressure to come up with things for them; they like having some down time just to play in the afternoon. We'll shoot for about 2 afternoon activities a week (often the pool) and 1 bigger activity over the weekend when I'll have DH's help. Here's a short list of what I know we'll do:

the movies
the pool
a picnic
a road trip to see my family right after school gets out (just me and the kids)
a week of vacation in August (With DH and my family at a lake)
some projects around the house (think yard work and toy clean outs)
whatever craft or cooking projects catch my eye on Pinterest
the zoo
bowling
Geocaching
the library (and their summer reading program)

Our summer reading program's reward is a coupon book, so we'll aim to earn them by Aug. 1st so we have a month to do some of the activities in the book. There's usually some free kids meals at restaurants and free or reduced admission to activities in the area, etc. I won't plan much for Aug. since we'll decide what to do based on what this year's coupons are.

I'm supposed to make a list? lol

This is me! Lol!!! As long as we get out the house a little bit over the next coming weeks, we are doing good. I just sort of check to see what's going on each week randomly and if I feel up to it, we'll check out an event. We do plan to go to a strawberry fest this weekend and to the Children's Museum at some point this summer.

I like to be the mom that randomly plans things as I find time :)

We will definitely be at the zoo a lot since we have a zoo pass, and we are planning a trip to the Columbus Zoo. Other than that probably just lots of being outside, swimming, etc. I am planning a few trips to the different museums around here.

Ours are pretty random too, I just like to have a list of ideas in front of me. I tried to plan a lot more in years past, it didn't work out that way.

All 5 of us are homebodies; we need the push of knowing there's an activity scheduled to get out and do something outside our normal routine. We do best when I put some things on the calendar at the start of the summer. In the end we may swap out that day's "planned" activity for something else based on mood, weather, or cost, but having an activity listed on the calendar encourages us to block out the time and go do something.

We are pretty serious about our list around here...this is our third year...

Granted we only have one summer here, so we're trying to see/do everything before we move. School ended today, so we have 5 things planned for this week, and 3 more next week.
My boys love this part of summer. They get so excited to check things off. (I get excited to go out and do things so I don't strangle them...they're always messing/fighting with each other...)

Due to sports we really only have July. Mayhem made all-stars so baseball is running until at least July 4 and both boys have football camp starting July 30 & ending when football practice begins. That makes day long activities or evening ones difficult

We're going geocaching one morning a week & while traveling to tournaments. Thursdays we play board games while eating lunch. Wednesdays they learn to cook a meal. We're going to the Science Museum a couple hours away one day in July and to King's Dominion if we can find a decent weather day. DH is going to take them to a National's game or to a minor league game a couple hours away.

They have to play outside for an hour to get an hour of xbox or computer time so they are busy clearing a patch in the woods and building a 'camp' for themselves & friends. There will be camping in the woods starting next weekend probably.

Our list includes:

trips to the water fountains
a day trip to Busch Gardens
$1 movie day
Library trips
going to a friends pool
going to go to a huge splash pad/almost water park that's $7 for adult ($3 for kids) I can't wait for this one
visit the "zoo" at the shell factory
maybe a day trip to the Naples zoo

We've been doing lots of activity's outside: water balloons, playing with the hose, my cousin has three large dogs that my kids adore so we've had a "dog wash" at my house. The kids and the dogs loved playing with the hose and the dogs are so gentle that my kids soaped them up and washed them off. We're going to make this a monthly summer activity.

Sports have kept us busy too. My husband has been working TONS of overtime as well. We did go away to Branson for a short trip. We were planning a trip to South Dakota to visit Mt. Rushmore in July but now we may be going to Ohio instead. Far cry from what I want to do but we'll see...

Mine are on a pinterest board too :) Summer here with work and life is crazy and ours is going to be really random but the ideas are together.

I've marked a couple of $1 movie days on the calendar, too. I have to take a day off from work to go but I'm ok with that. My friend even said that the theater let her walk in with Starbucks and her own snacks.
