Anyone been to Legoland? We are thinking to go to San Diego next spring (my son gets 2 weeks off!). There is so much else to see in San Diego, that I"m hoping we can just spend ONE day at Legoland. That sound do-able? (My kid is 6.)
 
We took my son when he was 6 and he absolutely loved it. We ended up going 2 days. We thought we could do it in 1 day but we ended up needing an extra day. Legoland is really fun and I'm amazed at what they can do with legos...
 
Legoland must have changed since it first opened because we did the entire park in one day - actually MUCH less than one day. Shortly after lunch, we were done. My kids had fun but it wasn't a park (at that time anyways) that needed more than 1 day. I also agree that 6 is a good age for legoland.
 
My nephew went around that age and had a fun time. There are a lot of objects made out of Legos which leads to an opportunity for scrapworthy photos. ;) You could do Legoland in one day.

Also, if you're going to be in San Diego, don't forget the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. There is also the San Diego Air & Space Museum. Have fun on your trip!

ETA: oops, I read that wrong and thought you needed other suggestions for what to do in San Diego. You already know there is a lot of fun to be had in San Diego. :)

We went just after it first opened when my boys were very small. They loved it and had a blast then we went back several years later and the park already seemed worn out from when we had gone the first time. The hot sun all the time on the legos had really faded them and the boys where older and didn't really have a good time. 6 I think is the perfect age and I would not spend more than 1 day there. Spend at least 2 days at San Diego zoo and do the Kangaroo bus thingy they have and then spend a day at Sea World.
 
Thanks gals!!! I was in San Diego when I was in college (20 years ago) and have been waiting to go back! I definately want to see Balboa park too. And if the weather is nice spend a day digging in the sand!
 
We had a great time spending 1 day at Legoland and 1 day at the San Diego Zoo. Six is the perfect age for both. Have a great time! I'm sure that there are great kits here for scrapbooking!
