Layering

Do you have any tips or tricks as to how to look like it is actually meant to be that way - I'm inspired by the work that I see in galleries but just can't seem to get it right - I use PSE 6 and here is my main gallery DST Gallery

I really think starting with at template helps me be more open to layering.
If the pictures are already there or if I know where they are going to be I feel better about piling on the elements.
I try and stick with the Triangle rule...make a visual triangle with each element...not each GROUP...but each element...it doesn't always work out that way, but it is how I start...

Well, usually you would put the "heavy" stuff on the bottom, then work up. Also, stuff like sequins, paint splatters, strokes and that stuff would go on the bottom. I think it's more how you shadow it than how you layer it, but that's just my opinion.

I'm glad you asked. I'm always up to reading tips about layering . . . something that I'm not very good at, but want to be!
