L&D

okay . . . so I spent 5 hours in L&D last night.

I started having bad burning/cramping the night before last and I cramped and contracted all day y'day. They were often about 15 minutes apart.

I called my doc office and they said better safe than sorry. WHen I got there they pretty much stopped but I was slightly dehydrated (found keytones in my urine) and then they checked my cervix and I am VERY thick but dialated 1.5. they ran a test to see if I am at risk for early delivery and I am NOT -- so that's good.

I am going to talk to my doctor and see if we can deliver at 38 instead of 39. The last few days have been awful and miserable. My mom just so happened to be in town visiting so she stayed so I don't have to do anything...they didn't put me on bedrest -- in fact said continue normal activities. Kinda crazy. My doctor wasnt on call so I haven't talked to him yet, but I do see him next Wednesday.

I was having contractions I didn't know I was having and the ones I had been feeling all day stopped....like DH said --- it's like taking a car to the mechanic ... the problem stops.

Yikes P hang on tight so that little man can build up that strength. Besides I'll be highly ticked off if you deliver before I do :-P

LOL about the car and mechanic, so true!

hope things settle down for you or you deliver!

That happened to me too with two of my pregnancies. With my DS2 is was way too early so I just drank A LOT of water and after about 6 hours they stopped and he was born 4 days before his due date. With the twins it happened 1 week before they were actually born (at 37 weeks). It stinks but hang in there and I hope all goes well over the coming days.....

Oh Priscilla I hope things calm down for you and that he stays puta bit longer! it's a good thing that you have some help there with you!

LMAO. I know how badly Meg wants to have her baby! LOL. Priscilla - hang in there! I can't wait to see him when he does arrive though! Nice to have your mom there though right now, right?

Oh I hope he stays put in there a few weeks longer Priscilla! I had something similar at 33 weeks with Kyle. My OB sent me to L&D and after a few hours there my contractions magically stopped! I was on bed rest for the weekend only and didn't have any contractions until my OB induced me 9 days before my due date. I was absolutely miserable and she took pity on me lol! It's good that your Mom is there to help out though!

my mom doesnt want me to even get up unless i have to pee........so i can take advantage of it while she's here and keep him in there without too much discomfort.......so i guess i can scrap a lot :D

tooo bad i can't spend much

with your Mom there, you should be able to get Will's pages done! hehehee
hope Lucas stays put for just a bit longer, and your body co-operates.
(((hugs))) girl!!

My stomach gets really hard anytime I get up to go pee -- I think the strain of transferring to my wheelchair.

bummer

I'm not 34 weeks yet -- so it's still a bit - early. I think he needs to stay put at least another 3.5 weeks. :(

YES! I had a 33 weeker. Not fun to go home without a baby! She's a healthy strong 2 year old now...but-still. Just too scary! So tell that baby to stay warm and comfy for a few more weeks til you serve the official eviction notice! ;)

-pats meg and priscilla-
i don't envy either of you.
keep that baby in there, priscilla. not ready yet. a couple more weeks, and then you can start thinking about it.

and meg, i swear, if that baby doesn't come like, this weekend, i'll drive to wherever you are and give you a pedicure. cause that's one of the ways to get the labor started. and we ALL know you want her out. lol.
