we are going to look at a house that is for rent. We have been looking for a place since January, and nothing has come together for us. They have either fallen through or not worked for us space-wise (not so easy to fit 6 people in smaller places).

The one we are going to look at is an older house, 80 years old, one of the original houses to my community. Currently, it is only 2 bedrooms, but the owner wants to renovate the basement and put another bedroom, bathroom and a TV room downstairs. It sits on over an acre of land, has a garage, and is right in town (which will save me fuel for simple trips!).

Rent has gone up insanely since we last moved (2.5 years ago), and sadly, we won't be able to keep our truck, as the payments are equal to our rent at the moment, and we can't afford to keep it with the new rent price we will be paying (almost double what we are paying now!!).

I'll update later with whatever happens. We have a meeting at the realtors office after lunch (the realtor is also a property mangaer), with one other prospective renter also meeting at the same time (strangely, we know the other person - single guy, no family here, hasn't worked in a few months so not sure how he will be able to afford the insane rental price. hehe).

*fingers crossed* sonja! The fact that rent is still high here with everything going on around the valley makes me shake my head.. its absurd!! I hope this place works out!!!

I hope it works out, it really sounds nice. And it sounds like you wouldn't need your truck as much since the house is downtown.

If your rent is twice as much, why don't you just stay where you are? I'm confused.

If this is what you need though, good luck!

the place where she is now the owners want back, lease is up.. she doesn't have a choice :( :( stupid owners!
