Ok, I didn't post anything here because I don't really like bugging people with my problems. I like to be loving, upbeat and positive!

But, I have been suffering with IBS for over a year now. Well, it started getting really bad late in the fall. So, after the holidays, my doctor sent me to have a barium swallow! Yummy! (not) LOL She suspected that I might have Crohn's Disease (I had like three of the top symptoms).

So, I went in nearly two weeks ago and had that done. This morning, I got a call from my doctor and she tells me that my test for Crohn's is NEGATIVE!!

I can't tell you how relieved I am!
 
Wonderful news, Paula! DH has two family members (not blood related thank god) that have Crohns and it is NOT a fun disease. I'm glad you got the all-clear!!
 
Crohn's was my worst fear with my stomach issues. I wouldn't wish that disease on anyone, I'm glad that's not your problem Paula.
 
Wonderful news Paula!!!! A very good friend's husband passed in August due to severe complications from Crohn's. It sucks........
 
Oh, thank goodness, Paula! I have a friend who has suffered for years and it has not been pretty. I hope they figure out the cause and you're feeling better asap! :)
 
That's sooo great Paula! I hope though, that you and the doctors figure out how to manage your IBS well so that it doesn't bother you!
I had to do the gross tests also four years ago and I know it's not fun (only they thought I had colitis...) it turns out I just had stomach ulcers, and a medication and a bit of time (and a low acidic diet) fixed me!
 
Paula, that is so SO wonderful. I wouldn't wish that disease on my worst enemy. Not the same as IBS, but I have ulcerative colitis, so if you ever want to talk poop/procedure/pills, you know where to find me ;) Even if you just want to vent/complain. Sometimes it just helps to get it out(teehee)!
 
That's good news Paula- haven't "seen" you around much lately and was worried. :) Are you feeling any better though?
 
Thanks for asking Stephanie! I am feeling a better. She was able to give me something for the pain that I have related to this and I'm feeling loads better.
 
Paula, so glad that your test results came back negative for Crohn's Disease....Hope you are able to get some kind of relief for your IBS though....
 
Paula, I am so glad that your test came back negative! I suffer from IBS type problems too and have been through a ton of tests. I hope you get some relief because it is NO fun and it really is painful! If you have any questions feel free to PM me. Sometimes I think it helps just to be able to talk to someone who has similar issues!
