So weird watching them walk into that big ol' school... and my old school at that. I can't believe this is happening already. Am I really old enough to have high schoolers? :huh:
 
I know the feeling - my oldest is in 8th grade this year and I can't believe that he'll be in high school next year! Wasn't it just a week or so ago that he was learning how to ride a bike??
 
When we walked through at the end of last year for the first open house everything looked the same and smelled the same as when I was in there 15 years ago. Walked right past my old locker and everything, knew where everything was. I still FEEL like a high schooler sometimes, lol!
 
Just dropped my oldest off for his freshman year of college in another state this weekend ... How did it go so fast? Glad I still have 3 at home =)

I know!!! My oldest daughter started high school this week, too. How is that even possible!?! Such a weird feeling for me having one starting HS and the other just 6 months old!

Well, guess I won't complain about high school. College freaks me out! lol!

They survived. I'm annoyed though because one of them decided to not get a locker. :thumbdown: He has no idea what a pain it is going to be to lug all his books from class to class. Then of course when I pointed out that he would have no where to put his winter coat he informed me that he has no intention of wearing a coat this year.

Huh? I know it was a mild winter last year, but we live in Michigan, pal. For cryin' out loud. These kids are going to drive me crazy.
 
well, Johnny fell asleep on the couch at 9:00. NINE O'CLOCK. Jake was in bed and asleep by 10:00. lol! these are the boys who usually stay up till 1 or 2 am. Hilarious!
 
I have the same feeling! My oldest starts high school on Monday, and I can't wrap my head around it.
 
At least a bunch of us will be in the same boat!

On a side note... I just found Johnny's card with his locker number and combination all crumpled up on the computer desk. I think he's gonna need some help staying organized, lol!
 
My daughter is a junior in college this year, she's just turned 19, it makes me so sad. And my son is a sophmore in high school this year, that makes me even more sad I think. Ugh, they are growing up so fast!

At my sons school they don't have hall lockers. They don't even have to lug books around. They just lug their backpack that contains their papers, folders,etc.. but no books - - all the books stay at home, and for during school their are classroom copies. I love this! It's worked well for our school as well because they have far less lost books having to be replaced.

Nope because there are classroom books, identical to their 'home set'. So one set of books is used for all the kids while at school that remain in the class and then for their homework and study they have their own set of books for each class at home.
 
That's cool. I don't think we would have enough money in our budget for that, lol! We had to shut down 3 schools a few years ago :(
