I've been up all night...

literally...we've had tornado warning after tornado warning ALL night long. I think I got maybe 1 1/2 hours of sleep total..the sirens have been blaring all night and these have been HUGE storms training one on top of another.

We have a 2 story house so that means the kids have been downstairs with us..Avery does fine..he can sleep through anything, but Miss Ella has mostly been awake with me ALL night.

Today is not going to be a fun day.

{{hugs}} Tornadoes at night are the worst (well, no time is a fun time for that... but more scary at night, imo)... hopefully no more bad weather today and you will be able to rest.

oh how awful, I hope you are all ok. That must be so scary, I am so glad we don't have tornadoes here. Take care of yourselves!

Thx y'all...it finally calmed down around 5 am and once I got DH off to work I crashed for about an hour...she's tired too so hopefully it'll be an extra long nap today.

Fall tornados are pretty common for us...it's been a long time since we had them this bad at night though...Yazoo City which was hit by the big E4 back in April was hit again last night...lots of reports of damages and stuff close by us too. I hope that was it for us til Spring.

Yup - this is our bad time of the year.
It's supposed to be passing out of your way today though (if it hasn't already). I hope you get some extra sleep today!! ((hugs))

Aww! Well, I'm glad you all were safe though. I enjoy a good tornado warning myself... but not in the middle of the night!

((Hugs)) I heard about that on the radio this morning...glad you are safe, even if you're exhausted!
I hate those nighttime warnings...I stay up and watch the weather reporters until all threats have passed...makes me too nervous to sleep knowing there's that possibility.

Hope you get some sleep today! I have to drive home through a winter storm today, not looking forward to that.

Well, Ella seems totally unfazed by our long night lol...I on the other hand am so tired my eyes are burning. Oh and I was just watching the news...the roof was blown off the local Toys R Us which I was planning on going to tomorrow to finish up my Christmas shopping...guess that won't be happening. What a bad time of year for the only Toy Store for a hundred miles to get hit :/

I hate those nighttime storms. We do not usually get the big tornadoes down here yall do but we get bad lightning and the lightning is what scares me. We had a tree about 15-20 feet from our living room window hit by lightning a few years back. I had literally just walked through our front door when it started raining and within seconds a HUGE flash of light came through the front window and I heard a loud boom. I mean it sounded like a bomb going off. I could not go outside immediately but I could smell smoke and I was so scared it hit the house and the roof might be on fire so I had to go out to see if I saw any smoke coming from the house. That is when I saw the tree was hit. It had bark stripped in a spiral fashion all the way from the top to the bottom of hte tree and bark spread about 25 feet away from the tree in all directions. I know not the same as tornadoes but because the lightning here in Florida is so bad it is what really scares me. Sometimes it strikes so close to the house it looks like it is literally coming through the windows. Not sure I could make it through those storms if I had to worry about those huge tornadoes as well.

Glad you were out of its path Nikki. Extreme weather of any kind is so incredibly scarey and there is only so much preparation you can do.
Sounds like you managed to catch up on some lost sleep today so thats a good thing - hope you can get Ella to bed tonight!
